RE: Why is the MAC Championship in Detroit?
Guys,
Remember back in the days of Marshall being in the MAC (second time around), how their fans constantly laid on "attendance smack"? That's why I found the thread on the C-USA board lambasting poor ol' WKU for not having a SO for the C-USA championship game last Saturday so amusing (although it's not just Herd fans criticizing WKU...mostly So. Miss fans)....some are suggesting that the game be held at the site of the C-USA school with the best attendance....sound somewhat familiar?? As I posted over there, if you can't beat 'em on the field of play, there is always that "attendance smack" as a back-up plan. (as lame as it is).

Actually, given the good weather and the fact that it was a Saturday game, it is kind of surprising WKU couldn't sell out their 22K stadium.......they ended up with about the same attendance we had at the neutral site Ford Field. I watched most of the C-USA title game and didn't think that the stadium looked that empty...just some areas in the upper deck on the ends were pretty open with empty seats.

The Kent State-No Ill championship was the first post-season game since the 1970s, so there was some pent-up demand for fans to go
