I think it would be only right and just if the ACC, SEC, B1G and the PAC12 decide to just walk on the field and shake hands and then call it a day. There is not one reason to play these games.
UNC can't make the playoff no matter what. Same for Florida and PAC12 champ.

Iowa is the "Poster Child" for being dissed by the current set up.

If anybody deserves to be in the playoffs right now, it is Clemson and Iowa.

There is still time. They could just shake hands at midfield and walk away.

The debate for the other two spots should be between the Big12, SEC, Pac12.

Contractually, ESPN has put certain conferences at a disadvantage. That's a shame.

They Could. By ESPN they're ranked right above Ohio State. So yes, plausible.

They Beat Undefeated Clemson + USC beats Stanford. They're in like a hot sorority girl to a frat party.

Just because if you win you can't make it to a Playoff spot, doesn't mean it's not worth playing. To WIN your conference DOES mean a lot. Especially on the P5 scale.

Plus, going to a "BCS" bowl has factors in it too which is big $$. So it means an awful lot.

The best would be if all P5 conference champs goes to a Playoff. With 5 teams, you'd need at least 6 for a playoff.

1st Round Bye: Top #1, #2 teams

#3 vs #6 (Top G5 Conf Champ) --> vs #2 in 2nd Round
#4 vs #5 ---> vs #1 in 2nd Round

That'd be way smoother. Allows a G5 to get in.

Or go 8 teams, adding two more, and nobody with a bye. The Top G5 would always be #8 seed, sometimes #7 seed.

That way you'd add 2 best-P5-non-conf-champs (Iowa with 1 loss/Ohio State/UNC if they lost a real close game/etc)

ESPN doesn't have UNC ranked ahead of Ohio St. That's the AP poll.

Your comment is humorous to me. The fact that you're suggesting that the ACC has been placed at a disadvantage and seeking for sympathetic responses is humorous as well.

ESPN in collusion with the SEC, ACC, B1G, PAC and Big 12, coined the phrase "Power 5". They then used it to separate 5 conferences from the rest for the purpose of gaining an advantage for those conferences and the networks whom represent them.

So for you to even appear to whine for the lack of support for the ACC is humorous and hypocritical. The AAC has by and large out played the ACC this year and yet earns less then a quarter of the money collectively.

Clemson has gotten stronger as the season has gone on. Watson has developed & Louisville was their first real test of the season & it was in PJCS. Clemson also had just lost their best WR & has since adapted. The Tigers played conservative on offense but has now opened it up.

The only ones that are getting robbed by the system is the G5.

What I'm also saying is that there is also still time. Just don't play the games. Not one reason to just not play the games. JUST DO NOT PLAY THE GAMES.

If the ACC and B1G just don't, then they both get a team in the playoffs.

Based on the rankings tonight, not one reason to have a CCG. It should be about # of P5 teams played and record. Be it "in"conference or "out of" conference.
