I am hearing that ND offensive coordinator Mike Sanford is one candidate being considered strongly by Virginia.

That would be another huge mistake by UVA. They can't afford to do another "let him learn on the job" coach. VT just went and got Fuente. UVA needs to do something similar. I guess 12 losses in a row to your rival isn't a big deal.

I've always been surprised UVA and UNC don't recruit better given how many people gush over their campuses and act like the colleges are superior to other public unis

any chance the NC State coach gets fired, they haven't seemed to improve any in his 3 years and the program is the same as it was under the previous coach

I would like to see Brohm at NC State, it's a better mix of styles. If he does go to Virginia then at least that would make them more of a rival for the Cards.

I hope that nobody hires him for at least another year, but he is supposed to be the next "big deal".

According to Jody Demling, Brohm has already turned down 2 interview requests to concentrate on the CCG this weekend. 1 is believed to be from Memphis, was Virginia the other?

Are you expecting Brian Kelly to bounce?

Amazed that UVA is going to take another flier on such an unproven guy. London was a massive risk when they hired him, and now this Sanford?

Hey, he may be fantastic, and all these hot G5 coaches may crash and burn. There's no guarantees in this game.

But it's hard to believe that their mindset is "let's try again to see if we can hit the lottery this time."

Then again, it's UVA football, so I guess it's not hard to believe at all.

If he retains some current staff like Fuente did at VT and gets the benefit of a friendlier schedule, this could be a great choice. His dad could give him some pointers when playing us as he was here under Strong for a short bit.
Brohm may want to enjoy the fruits of his labor for a bit longer before moving on. WKU is a special place.

04-chairshot I was trying to place the Sanford name. If that's the case he'll be comin' after the Ville with H3LL To Pay cause Charlie Strong had it out w/ him because he wouldn't put Teddy in the game and old man Sandford wasn't seen or heard from again 'round Da Ville! 03-lmfao

If he stays at WKU I expect him to make a push for Towles who's transferring from UK.

FWIW:

Anna Hickey ‏@AnnaHScout

Irish QB commit Ian Book on Mike Sanford: "He clarified that he's staying with Notre Dame." ($) http://www.scout.com/college/notre-dame/.../177947135
