OT: Are the Browns the most cursed franchise?
Or is the City of Cleveland just heavily cursed? Just when you think a fanbase couldn't suffer any more heartbreak.

Speaking of the NFL, with all of these firings, especially of successful head coaches in college football, I'm trying to figure out how Jeff Fisher has been one for so long.

The Browns are probably #1 for the NFL. The Cubs, though, blow all other curses out of the water. Having a 107-year World Series championship drought (plus a 70-year pennant drought) couldn't be repeated even if another franchise *tried* to be that bad.

The Paul Brown curse? Keeping the name and color scheme after firing him? The original Cleveland Browns did fine once they moved to Baltimore and became Ravens.

No, just incompetently run.

Curses are not real.

Poor player and personal development along with suspect coaching is real.

Yes, I'm not necessarily suggesting they're actually cursed as much as just starting conversation. Last night was just another moment in the long tradition of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

Maybe for the NFL

But I would put the Cubs at the top for all sports.

How would you like to be a Philadelphia fan? Phillies finished in last place with the worst record in baseball. 76ers still haven't won this season and currently have the longest losing streak in professional sports history and going strong. The Eagles stink and are getting blown out weekly by mediocre competition. And the Flyers are in 6th place in an 8 team division. It doesn't get much worse professionally than what's going on in Philly.

Philadelphia teams have all been in their respective championship rounds in the last 15 years and Temple, even if they don't capture Philly, is really good right now. Villanova has been to a Final Four recently and the Phillies won it all recently.

Philly is not lacking or hurting at all, even if the present isn't too rosy. Try being a Houston fan, it's rarely fun, even with a good college football team right now.

They still had a great chance to win.

I think I agree with hoops. Phils, 76ers both are worst in the league bad, Eagles are very poor, and Flyers are maybe mediocre. Professional sports wise, Philly is the worst right now, in 2015. I don't think it's particularly close.

We said cursed, not God awful. All of those teams have won titles. Houston has two that apparently Michael Jordan was responsible for in some way. Cry me a river.

The Phillies have won the Pennant in my lifetime. The Eagles went to 4 NFC Championships and a Super Bowl. The Philly teams may be bad right now but they haven't had decades (40+ years) of ineptitude either.

From the old school Lions and Browns have never gone a superbowl.
New School, Jags and Texans. Bengals have the longest playoff win drought.

When the Browns lost 3 AFC title games to the Broncos in the 80's, especially the
Earnest Byner fumble......maybe a bit of a curse.

If incompetent management is a curse then yes the Browns and Lions are cursed. The Pats used to be cursed then Kraft bought the team, brought in Parcells, then Belichick and turned the franchise around.

But Houston is an original AFL City with the first two titles of that league. They haven't had a Super Bowl reaching team in 44 seasons and counting.
