Really. How you figure. Maybe the truth hurts.
LOL. A UH fan is on the top of the world right now. Getting ready for a trip to NY6 bowl, I am not sure any fan is hung up on the basketball attendance or what the basketball team's record is against Cinci. So man you need to take a chill pill or get laid or something to blow off steam.
Thats great but my reply was to a houston fan tjat asked what we have done lately. The answe is dominate you in football and basketball. I have no ill will about bowls or butt hurt in any way.although i would not count my chickens if i were you
Your aggression make it sound like you are butthurt. Besides Kronke was arguing with the troll puppet master that started the thread, not sure why you have to drop into the mess. I doubt any Houston fan cares about our record against Cinci and I am sure the feeling is mutual
Take a shot at my team and I take a shot back. Just like you Houston folk do.

What does Cincy bring to this conference, again? Other than teh melt, of course.
Your baseball championship is the equivalent of our womens soccer championship. Our hoops record against you losers is 25 and 1. Congratss on pulling out a 3 point win at your place after a total melt down to break up our 5 game streak. Face it you are the definition of our *****.
baseball is televised
its levels.... baseball >>>> womens soccer
tier 1
football
tier 2
baskbetball
tier 3
baseball/women bball
tier 7
womens soccer
So was the womens soccer championship. As far as fans, baseball is much closer to womens soccer than basketball. Just sayin.

Yeah I don't think baseball is bigger than basketball.. but I do know teams like LSU can draw 10k plus, and last year in the Houston classic when houston played LSU and a&m there were at least that many there, so in some cases UH baseball out draws your basketball.
Baseball is the clear number 3 most places.

Checked the numbers and UH vs A&M last year had over 16 thousand in attendance.

I wouldn't brag about that if I were you. That's a really low bar to set.
Just be glad UConn and UC are forced to share their NCAA credits with you. When Houston baseball is dropping money in the bucket to share, then you can come talk.

Same with me. I have 5 season tickets and have not used them yet. I live in Kingwood and started a new job in the Woodlands and I just can't get motivated to drive 100 miles round trip for a basketball game. I probably go to all of them once we play LSU and start conference play.
Yeah but students, faculty and locals are this disinterested too. I thought ECU basketball support was bad. At least y'all have some history on your side.

Give it time. Texas is a football first state. We have FB squared away and the next project is basketball.
Sampson is doing what needs to be done if anything he just needs more of a presence online like Herman. Its the way you reach people now.
Clearly that crowd in unacceptable and if I lived less and an hour+ away with no traffic I might make a weeknight game against a no name opponent once in awhile.
Weeknight anything is a tough draw in Houston especially from a program that has been neglected and bad for so long.

Have you been to a game this season?

No, his rationale for starting this thread was 'UH fans are sensitive, I'm going to find a weak spot and start a bait thread about it. Then UH fans will surely come and fire back at whoever is listed as the OPs favorite team. Then UC fans will come and fire right back. Bwa ha ha.'
It's worked beautifully. That's what trolling is. And you are dealing with the best.

Wrong little buddy... Having share a conference with the UT's Arkansas A&M's of the worlds has given us plenty thick skins, so no, the sensitive thing isn't even close, some of us enjoy replying back to troll threads.
I think is fun, when I have spare time of course... Hehe

By the way, does anyone find it ironic that as much as UH fans have trashed UC for hiring a retread Tubs as head coach, that they have done the exact same thing in basketball?
Food for thought.

uc retread...mediocre retread who was subpar his last few years as a coach
UH retread... made the tourney his last 13 years as a head coach before UH
Tubbs = Dickey not Sampson
James Dickey (our old bball coach), from TTech had 1 GREAT year back in the day, surrounded by alot of subpar, his years before coming to UH as a HC were all bad
if UC got mark richt or les miles, that is a sampson retread hire

Lol, what? Sampson had been an NBA assistant for 5 years before he was hired at Houston. An NBA assistant! That's not exactly a prime way to sharpen your coaching skills. It's a good way to sharpen your babysitting skills though.
Indiana regretted hiring him immediately, and that's not even mentioning the laundry list of NCAA violations he left in his wake at Oklahoma. Now you are comparing Sampson to Richt or Miles? That's crazy talk.
It's actually pretty similar. You just don't want to think about it.

(11-30-2015 11:52 PM)UHRedcat96 Wrote: I would love to start off the year laying a name team or two, or three. But our previous AD liked to schedule nobody cupcakes.
It is also difficult when none of your former rivals are willing to play you at home or away. So we get stuck playing the Lamars, Sam Houston States, UT-Pan Am, Prarie View A&mms.
This does nothing to excite our fans about BB early on in the season. Many people live in the burbs and cannot make the turnaround from work to game or will not to watch us beat down on some pathetic, no name team.
I'm sure everyone would attend UT, aTm, Baylor, TTU, LSU, etc...but we cannot get them to play.
So most folks just wait until conference.
And as stated we were so bad under Dickey many folks just have not come back. When he was coach we would occasionally lose to these kinds of team ...and we had top notch talent. He just could not coach. Embarrassing really.
I've suggested they start games no earlier than 7:15-7:20 and best case scenario, at 7:30. I noticed how bad traffic was leaving the suburbs and it's just not fair or realistic to expect people to have to make such a trek back and forth from various parts of town.
That doesn't excuse the lack of attendance, it can certainly be better, but given how big Houston is geographically and the amount of traffic around town, starting games later may be for the best. And Hofienz is a total dump at this point, it may be time to try and rent another arena, even Toyota Center possibly, until its renovated.
Finally, basketball has never been popular in Houston. Look at basketball attendance versus football attendance. The Rockets, who are usually good and actually make and achieve in the playoffs, versus the Oilers/Texans, who have little history yet sell out every ticket with a large waiting list. UH attendance declined sharply after Phi Slama Jama and other than some national and regional big names, almost never draws really well. It is what it is.
