Wow, I'd forgotten people brought up Fridge's name last time.

Randy Fichner should have been offered first this time around. Not all that sold on Odom or Dickey. This hire will make or break the program.

Have always liked Jim Levitt. He would still be at USF, except for "the incident."

At the time, I wanted Jeff Monken and his triple option offense. Personally I still do, but I know most people around here have no appreciation for run-based offenses. There is considerable advantage in running an offense which defenses rarely see (as was demonstrated by Navy). Winning and solid defense excites me more than seeing a lot of passes thrown.

Like Hudspeth. Like Fiichter if he can run a program and not just coach....who knows?

Really glad we didn't hire Freeze. Either it wouldn't have worked, or we probably lose him to Ole Miss after a decent season. Would have sucked either way.

Fichtner just has never given off that HC vibe. Fuente has it. Odom has it.

No to trip-option offenses. Would take us 3 years to retool the roster to get successful there. Lose a lot of momentum over 3 years. Ask Tommy.

We made the right hire.
