Sun Belt Coach of the Year
Who Should Be Named Sun Belt Coach of the Year

Quote:While there is still a game left to play for most in the SunBelt, I compared each teams Total Offense, Total Defense and Winning Percentage from 2014 to up to this point of 2015. Then I took those three categories and ranked them 1 to 11 and took the average of those rankings to come to my decision.

For a bit of spice and drama… I will only list these as Team A, B, C… and so on.

GA St will finish 4th no matter the results I believe that would mean Miles finished higher compared to preseason ranking than any other coach. If not him, Anderson.

Miles is the obvious favorite, and shoulder win it. Anderson is a dark horse at best.

Seeing how low App was in the coaches poll (with some picking them 4th or lower) I would think they would pick Satterfield. Those of us that were paying attention are not surprised they are standing on the brink of 10 RS wins, though.

Coach of the year with a losing record and FCS loss. Only in the Sun Belt.

I'd say Satterfield, but that's only because I don't see giving an award to a coach with a losing record. If Georgia State wins Saturday, Miles, hands down

Has to be Satterfield or Anderson.

App actually picked up pointed in the coaches poll. They have 6 now whereas they had 1 last week.

Arkansas State is now picking up votes in the AP poll as well. If Georgia Southern, App, and Arkansas State all win in bowl games, all will be receiving votes at the end of the year.

Georgia Southern had the biggest hill to climb as they lost to App on national television, but a route like the one against WMU in a bowl game would almost seal it I believe. (I also don't think anyone you play in a bowl will shut you down the way App and WVU did.)

I meant the preseason SBC coaches poll.

Should go to Anderson or Satterfield, giving Coach of the Year to a 5-7 or 6-6 team with an FCS loss is a bit ridiculous.

Am I missing something or does this system give the coach of a team that did well the reviews season pretty much no chance of winning?

Laying a massive egg in Boone all but eliminated Fritz.

Sounds more like a "most improved" award to me.

Wasn't advocating for Fritz, just asking if I'm missing something regarding the formula. Thanks, TrapdrawApp, that's what it looks like to me.

What formula is that? We're fans on a message board speculating and expressing opinions.

The formula in the article linked in the first post of this thread.
