Interesting article on Herman and how he turned things around at UH. This is in the current print edition.

I probably should have mentioned a few things in the article that I thought would get some attention. First, it notes that Levine was a good guy who made questionable coaching hires and lost a lot of close games, enough to get him fired. Second, Herman talks about coaching up true freshmen offensive linemen who had to step up on an injury ravaged offensive line. Reminds me of things I have read on other threads.

Interesting that old Offensive Coordinator Herman puts as much emphasis on defense as that article would suggest. I wish we could get old Defensive Coordinator Bailiff to do likewise.
