Good. I don't want to see 5-7 teams in bowl games.

Whatever the final solution is, it will certainly not benefit us.

are you sure about that?

what if some bowls evolved into first tier playoff games if the number went from 4 to 8...

nothing the media/p5 hierarchy does will be the target of hosting a g5 benefit concert.....

however, and I pointed this out when realignment began years ago, they 'need' us like a pimp needs worker bees.....

I guess we'll find out how it plays out sometime down the road....

If this happens, I expect CUSA will lose bowls and be the back up plan for a bowl instead of a guaranteed spot. Just because we only placed 5 this season, doesn't mean we won't need those spots in the future.

The article says that in 2001 North Texas finished 5-6 won the Sun Belt and earned a spot in the Sun Bowl. I can confirm that is false. I attended the 2001 Sun Bowl and North Texas was not one of the participants. I don't think the Sun Bowl has ever had a contract with Sun Belt teams. Mike Price whi would become our head coach two years later led #13 Washington St to a last minute victory over Purdue.

You mean he didn't do his research on the 2001 Sun Belt title race and how La Tech screwed MT out of a bowl game?

Relax. It was a misprint. UNT earned a spot in the New Orleans Bowl that year (2001). Not the Sun Bowl.

Please explain this tantrum. LA Tech won the WAC football title in 2001 and played Clemson in the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, ID. I don't see how that had anything to do with FBS upstart MTSU.

I am relaxed and excuse me for correcting a mistake. If it was something involving your school and city wouldn't you want it to be accurate information?

You just seemed a little too hyper about it. It's really not that big of a deal. And no, it wouldn't be that big of a deal if it involved my school either. Just thought I would clear it up for you....it was the NO Bowl.

Well i appreciate the clarification since I didn't know which bowl game NT attended and i'm too lazy to research it. Yes I'm a little "hyper" when it comes to our Sun Bowl. We have an awful football history in our city. We are not very good when it comes to football. One thing we can do right is throw a big time bowl game. We take great pride in being the second oldest bowl game in NCAA history to be shown on CBS. We are very proud to have secured two P5 schools to play in our bowl. So I do find it a little disrespectful when a professional writer makes silly errors regarding our one thing keeping us relevant in the football world.
