See this is bullcrap, you never know when someone is going to be "good."

Fact is the Liberty doesn't want Memphis, they want Arkansas and someone from the Big 12 bowl eligible before Memphis. That ain't trolling, that's a business decision. Birmingham vs. Aubbie would be nice and a short drive out of town. What folks should hope for is a new stadium in both cities so the appeal of the bowls go up in stature, an in closed stadium in Memphis would elevate Memphis to a much better status.

Tennessee regularly reschedules our games with them when they think we are going to be good. Granted that it has to be done a couple years in advance, and things can always backfire on them. You are not a Memphis fan, so maybe you don't know the history. They have done it repeatedly.

Arkansas simply wont play Memphis at all, so for them, this is a moot discussion.

RE: Memphis vs Arkansas in Liberty Bowl
To play teams like Tennessee, Arkansas and other SEC powers, Memphis is going to have to be better over a number of years or be in a better conference. A bigger stadium would help too. Those schools fill their stadiums no matter who they play, so why risk scheduling an up and coming team like Memphis? Tennessee can pay $500k to some directional school out of Missourri to come to K'ville and still make butt loads of cash. Traveling to Memphis or a neutral site doesn't make sense financially to UT. Memphis does the same. Look at the first game on the '16 schedule: a directional school from Missouri that's probably a pay-to-play game. If the Tigers get in the Big 12 or become a national power, then ESPN or ABC will start helping the team with scheduling a TV game.
