Number of Possible Undefeated Teams at the End of the Regular Season:
2
- Clemson, Iowa
-Note: This is the first week this year, we have not lost an undefeated team.

Week 13 Thoughts:
-Both our remaining winless teams had one last chance for a victory this week. Neither succeeded and both Kansas and Central Florida end the season winless.

-We lost our last 1-loss MAC (Toledo) and independent (Notre Dame) this week. Notre Dame took the lead with 30 seconds vs. Stanford, but the Cardinal managed a last second long field goal to win. A win would have put Notre Dame in the playoff with another loss by Alabama/Clemson, but the loss eliminates them from national title hopes. Meanwhile Toledo’s loss removes them from the Group of 5 race shortly after getting a break with Northern Illinois loosing (putting Toledo back in control of their MAC destiny).

-We have our first, all but official, Orange/Cotton Bowl contestant with Oklahoma beating Oklahoma State.

-In our huge Group of 5 game, Houston soundly beat Navy putting them in the American championship against Temple who beat UConn. The winner is for all intents and purposes a lock to be playing in a New Years 6 bowl.

Week 14 Thoughts:
-Going into championship week, we can probably safely say 1-loss Oklahoma is in the Orange/Cotton Bowls. They are finished for the season and are outright Big 12 champions.

-Another spot will go to the winner of undefeated Iowa vs. 1-loss Michigan State. The two play for the Big Ten title.

-That leaves us with two spots and two teams who clearly control their destiny. One is undefeated Clemson who plays 1-loss North Carolina for the ACC title.

-The other is 1-loss Alabama who plays Florida for the SEC championship.

-If either Alabama or Clemson lose and drop out of the top 4 (not completely guaranteed), the likely ones to replace them are a) 1-loss Ohio State (idle), b) 2-loss Stanford (plays USC for PAC-12 title this week), or c) 1-loss North Carolina (if Clemson losses to them).

-The Group of 5 race this week is fairly clear. The winner of Temple and Houston is in.
