OU took care of business with extreme prejudice anyway.

If history repeats itself, Stanford will win pac 12 championship game and leapfrog OU. It will look like:
Clemson
Bama
Big tin champ
Stanford

If that happens with the B12 getting shut out again, I'll be shocked. OU looks solid.

I wonder how the negotiations will go if the B12 gets left out of the CFP AND loses the Liberty Bowl this year.

Oklahoma will get in now.

Looks like it, but with Stanford winning today, they will have a game against USC while OU sits at home.

I just don't see them bumping OU out.

Thus validating the B12's decision not to expand. Makes no sense why the other P5s would allow this, but they do.

You never know what the committee will do. If Stanford beats USC, they could easily jump them over Oklahoma, sending a clear message that a conference championship game is of utmost importance. That's what we need to hope for anyway.

OU will be in.

The biggest take from all this is it seems like if they call it a playoff, the P5 champions need to have a shot. All five of them. So maybe they expand the playoff to six, so theoretically a Memphis has a chance.

Of course, should Southern Cal beat Stanford it sort of sorts itself out.

If NC beats Clemson, would NC, a winning Stanford, a losing Clemson, or an idle Ohio state play off? Same if Florida beat Alabama...not likely with that terrible offense.

This year will push the "deciders" towards an 8-team playoff within the next year or two.
