But Harvard takes the lead, 47-48.

And now it's 47-53. Crimson on a 7-0 run!

(Question for someone watching @Tudor: Who is cheering the Harvard buckets? Are they Harvard fans? Or imported school kids? They seem on the audio stream to be nearly as loud as the Owl partisans.)

Not watching but my guess is Harvard brought some fans. When we've played them in men's basketball, they had quite a few fans/alums. I think they have one girl from Houston too (Cy Falls).

And 3 other players from Dallas area.

"Long-range 3" by Maya Hawkins cuts Harvard' lead to 61-64. 24.9 seconds left. Time out.

Owls foul quickly.

Harvard player from Houston (Kit Metoyer from Cypress Falls) makes both FTs! 61-66. Time out.

Goodwine's 3 "bounced in and out twice." Tie up. Ball to Rice. 15 seconds left.

Shot misses. Rebound. Air ball. Foul. 2.9 seconds left.

Owls lose, 61-67.

Looked in the wbb fact book on the riceowls.com site and this 0-5 streak is the worst start to a season since 2009-10.

RE: WBB vs. Harvard
The new coach inherited a project for sure. Goodwine and Rainey are a decent pair to work with, but I'm not sure who they can count on for scoring beyond those two. Next year, we'll add the Arizona State transfer which will help.

Plus the conference in women's basketball is much tougher than the men. Add in the fact that the women's basketball talent pool in general pales in comparison to the men (there is a huge dropoff in talent once you get past the top few teams and some of the best athletes are now playing other sports).

The bottom line is it's going to take longer for the new coach to get this program turned around then the men - just a guess.

Zoinks. That ties the record of six straight losses to begin a season. Rough start for a new coach.

So we have an AZ State transfer in both men's and women's hoops? That's a bit random.

One in volleyball, too.
