@TiceSing_3 Memphis is hiring Odom unless he gets the Mizzou job.

Missouri has the ability to attract a proven head coach. I would be shocked if they hire Odom.

It's the external things that are gonna hinder mizzou hiring a proven coach

Eh, I think that is not much of a factor. That will blow over and be forgotten soon enough.

I agree that it will blow over but any good established head coach that can get multiple offers will not forget what happened

I would say it is a fact that EVERY ASU coach in history would take the Memphis job ( basketball and football ) and so far Memphis has never decided to go that direction.

Did we ever try to get larry lacewell in the 80s?

He WANTED the job, actually actively campaigned .we foolishly overlooked him. 07-coffee3

More than once.

We feel just fine about it if you really want to give us the $3 Million buyout.

Man, if your coach has to pay a $ 3million buyout and he still wants to leave, he must really hate it there.
To pay $3million to put Jonesboro in your rear view mirror seems excessive

You act like losing a coach bothers us.

We've fully understood and accepted our role as a stepping stone. If we have to replace a coach every couple years, I am perfectly happy with it, because in all likelihood, we're getting cut a nice check to do it.

We're not idiots, we know there is no chance Anderson retires in Jonesboro, nor is there a chance he stays longer than a few years. Just like you guys should have accepted that Fuente would eventually get and accept a better offer. Neither of our schools are retirement destinations, nor would I think either of us would want them to be.

I would love this to be a retirement destination. Speak for yourself, John.

There is also no chance he is ready or under any consideration for Memphis job. Period.

Well ... the coach doesn't pay the buyout, the team that hires him away does. That said, it is a crazy number, smart of A State, definitely makes their coach much less attractive to others.
