Any chance Rice or ODU go as a 5-7 team?

Unfortunately, ,I think there are too many 5- win teams from power5 confernence, so ODU/Rice are way down on the pecking order. I do know APR comes into play for 5 win teams, so they MIGHT have a very outside shot.

If the NCAA goes to APR for 5-7 bowl teams, looks like Mizzou, San Jose State, Minnesota, Illinois and Rice would be in the mix.
Rice is tied for #6 in APR score of possible 5-7 teams with Illinois. A maximum of 5 5-7 teams will be needed.

The top 5-7 APR team (Nebraska) and Kansas State were left off the list by the alleged CFB expert. Both have a higher latest year APR than Rice if that is how the NCAA decides teams will be picked.

USM bringing the crowd it did to Ruston for a regular season game could have only served to raise the Independence Bowl's opinon of us.

Regardless of where we end up, all the folks insisting "we don't belong in CUSA" need to put their money & butts where their mouths are and prove it.

We really have the most fickle fans. Won't fill up a stadium at a home game but will ***** cause we won't go to the New Orleans Bowl so we can travel well. And yes I'm guilty. However I made home games when I could. When we moved to Missouri the games weren't feasible. But I watched. Now we're in Alabama I foresee more games in my future.

MTSU is locked into Bahamas
Marshall will get the second choice of either St. Pete or Miami
WKY gets first choice of above
Tech will go where ever USM tells them too. I wouldn't be shocked if it was back to Dallas if USM wants a more manageable NOLA.

I am happy with either NOLA or Dallas. NOLA is easier.

Always would rather have a bowl game than not, but doubt we get in. We'll rank 4th or 5th on that list, in terms of desirability, depending on the locations of available bowls.

Yea but don't be surprised if some teams turn it down.

Especially in a situation where the team and school lose $$ making the trip. Can't see San Jose St or a northern team with a disappointed fan base selling enough tickets to pay for the expenses.
