Freeze would've done the same thing Fuente did. Been successful then leave for a better job.

What Freeze has been able to do at Ole Miss in his 4 years there is nothing short of a miracle. The same could be said for what Fuente did here...

Time to stop thinking small.

We should interview Nick Saban for HC and steal Pete Carrol to be OC and Bill Belichek as DC. Urban Meyer can coach the special teams. Keep Fuente and Pastner as equipment managers and assistant waterboys.

Saban would be a fool to turn down Memphis to stay at Alabama, and I'm sure Belichek is bored to death in NE. Carol will jump at the chance. Besides, it rains too much in Seattle anyway.

Realize that any good coach we bring in will leave in a few years. It's not negative just a fact. The only way to avoid that would be to get a coach who is in the final chapter of his coaching career to take the job.

Any young good coach is about having a shot to win a National championship. The Memphis job at this point doesn't allow that because it is not in a P5. Until Memphis is in a P5 it will have almost an impossible job of hanging onto young good coaches. The best thing to due is follow the Boise model which is ensure you make a good hire that keeps the program moving forward.

Not negative about the Memphis job or program but not being in a P5 is a huge disadvantage not only in facilities but also in keeping coaches
