O/T: MAC Coaching Changes
So it begins...

@FootballScoop 5m5 minutes ago
SI is reporting that Iowa State is working on a deal to make Matt Campbell their new head coach http://FootballScoop.com/the-scoop

@AutulloAAS
I am told Toledo is prepared to make Iowa State target Matt Campbell the highest paid coach in the MAC.

Update: Sources tell FootballScoop that Matt Campbell is meeting with Missouri AD Mack Rhoades tonight. More on The Scoop.

I'm not saying we'll be the beneficiary but I can see some decommits in the near future as MAC coaching changes occur.

Agree. CC needs to be ruthless and go after their recruits. Throw any professional ethics out the window. Others do it. We need to do it too.

Conflicting reports on this one but wouldn't be surprised if it ultimately happens.

Also Western is supposedly set to offer Fleck a huge new contract said to rival some of those at Power 5 schools.

Since when did Western get those kind of resources? Or some mystery donors are about to step up?

Some donors stepped up for the first contract extension. I guess they have the $$$ when they're not suing each other over message board posts.

RE: O/T: MAC Coaching Changes
I forgot the name of the big name donor from SoCal.

Is it Tom Gores' brother?

In collegiate sports, esp. at the MAC level, one big donor can make things happen.

At the P5 level, donors like Knight from Nike or Pickens at OSU (Okla State) can also make things happen.

Someone correct me, but wasn't Oregon a big nothing in football until Knight poured money into the Oregon athletic program?

RE: O/T: MAC Coaching Changes
Toledo officially loses head coach to Iowa State. Bowling Green losing theirs, all but a formality.

Need to get rid of Fleck or WMU about to take over the MAC. He just landed a 4 star RB with 20+ offers, including Michigan, Ohio State, Arkansas, Nebraska, Tennesse, UCLA, etc, etc.

Wow, this guy can recruit!

UCF hired Oregon's OC so Babers won't be headed there. Still plenty of jobs open though.

Dear EagleTough,
If you are referring to Matt Falcon, he originally committed to Michigan, he then hurt (I believe) for the second time the same knee. Michigan dropped him like a hot potato. He may turn out to be okay from those injuries, but Western is taking a chance. Too bad for Matt with those injuries. Could end his career in football.

Thanks Ken, Matt is indeed the guy. What used to be career ending knee injuries aren't nearly what they used to be. Hope he has a full recovery.

There are some deep deep pockets in the k-zoo area. Enough that any student who graduates high school from kalamazoo public schools get their entire tuition paid for at any Michigan public college.
