Meanwhile 6 miles across town on Friday at 11 am....

LOL attendance smack from the commuter school that is 10x the size of a Rice. I'm sure 75% of UH students live in Harris county. UH had a great season and played a ranked team who would've gone to the access bowl with a win. I'm glad the attendance Friday was where it should be this season, hopefully by 2017 Rice fans are excited about football again and can match the UH enthusiasm when we resume our series.

Sorry, we had a bad year. It happens. Why such hostility?

And plays in a smaller stadium.

Plenty of 6 dollar seats available for the UH game on the secondary market. One of my UH friends called me up and we managed to get in and out of the game for under 20 bucks with plenty of room to spread out in the upper deck.

RE: **** Charlotte at Rice Official Game Thread ****
Rice is in a bad spot. They have a stadium designed for Texas or Texas A&M to visit every year, and a student body that if every single student showed up for a game they might fill 5 sections. Most of Rice's alumni are drawn national so they also leave the Houston area after college as well. Every living student and alumni of Rice would fit in their stadium with room to spare, so getting it full is a semi-permanent issue. Rice needs some 11-1 seasons and Access Bowl wins to engage the local community, or else buy a larger local college with 15,000+ students and get those local alumni numbers WAY up.
