Probably more the case of having a stud QB to be honest. I think he is a decent coach but having a 1-2 rounder type QB you can win a ton of games.
Yes, UCF two years ago was a good example. UCF lucked into an NFL calibre QB and road his arm, but their fans mistook that for great coaching and and having developed a permanently successful program.
That's why UCF won the conference the very next year without Bortles... (and were a UCONN upset away from repeating New Years bowl appearances)
Didn't UCF back into a 3-way tie last year thanks to some kind of hail mary play at ECU? Then crapped the bed in their bowl game against the 9th place ACC team?

We almost blew a 26-9 lead over ECU in the 4th quarter. We dominated the whole game and then nearly threw it all away at the end.

Probably a good time to go with Paxton leaving for the NFL. Sucks for the league though
USF moves up while Memphis drops to their usual spot, near last.
Don't count on it. Most of our starters are returning, we have a stud QB waiting in the wings, and it's possible last year's DC, when we were great on D, will return as HC. And our OC is staying.

Stud QB? The kid has no game experience. You have no idea how good/bad/average he'll be.

interesting to watch you lecture from an empty trophy case while trying to diminish one of the many conference championships UCF has had over the past 10 years. Quo, you are special.

80% of your 16 recruiting class are 2 *'s... On the QB you calling a stud, if you referring to the one who came in the second half vs SMU, yikes.

4 championships....We have been a successful program

Yes you did....... But once again preaching from an empty trophy case.
A couple doorstopper championships look mighty nice compared to nothing, but hey..... You can tell people all about the greatness of individual games..... But when people look if a program has been successful, we talk in championships.....a language USF needs to learn. Maybe you will get there some day.
Of course we are leaving off the fact that we have two championships as conference mates along with a BCS win...... Just saying
