I like the geographic locations of the East div. of CUSA, but in all honesty I like the money of the economic locations of the Big East Conference. Both have some +'s, and -'s. JMO

A big 12 breakup is the one thing that the SEC does NOT want to see happen, because if the Big 12 South formed a new conference and added Tulane and Southern Miss, then Texas and Oklahoma will have gained access (which they already have, but conceivably would stand to gain more access) to SEC recruiting areas b slipping in through the back door. The SEC could slip if the recruits got a lot more interested in the competition. Ole Miss, MSU and LSU would have to worry that in-state talent would be more interested in playing at Tulane or USM if those two schools were in a conference with Texas and Oklahoma.

So basically you are saying that the top of CUSA right now is equal to the bottom of the Big East? Just wondering.

Right...because it is St John's, Seton Hall, Providence, etc that drives the basketball revenue, not UConn, Syracuse, UofL, UC, Pittsburgh. Must have been a fun night of 04-drinky for you.

Plains Fort Worth Bowl:

* Cincinnati 32 Marshall 14
* Cincinnati leads series 6 - 3 - 1

Cincinnati Vs. Southern Miss

* 4 - 4 series in conference (Tied)
* Last game Cincinnati 52 at #21 Southern Miss 24

Cincinnati Vs. UAB

* Last game UAB 30 at Cincinnati 27
* Cincinnati leads series 5 - 3

I'll take those numbers/results.

UAB would be cool too:)

Being a conference USA fan, I hope they stick together, but it's unlikely for the far future.
IF the Big East goes shopping again it'll be for Memphis. ECU would be the better geographical fit but I just think Memphis has more to offer (bigger t.v. market, better basketball, better football, better way in and out of town, Liberty Bowl stadium, Fed Ex Forum).

I think the BE is done with CUSA. Contrary to what their posters say on their board, I don't think Mike will look to CUSA for more schools. Will schools from CUSA pound the BE door down for an invite if they do open there doors? Sure Memphis, UCF, and ECU would. And maybe Marshall to a lessor degree.

I think Mike Tran is going to stick to his guns and try to make that 16 team basketball league work. Maybe even try to lure Navy in as a 9th school since he wouldn't have to worry about their other sports teams.

BTW, did anyone see the BE get ripped on ESPNU when they did the preview of their conference? In a nutshell, they're not BCS material. Just their opinions of course. One that is shared by many.

Go CUSA!

Fans don't have anything to do with it. I do believe the Big East will expand by 1 and maybe grow by 2 if the Big 10 goes to 12. That is another 5 years, so the topic is pretty boring.

I prefer being in a conference with Rice and SMU to a school such as UConn with no tradition whatsoever. Besides, they would probably take you to the woodshed. Take your BC$ and shove it.
Isn't that the truth.

U Conn athletics is a complete creation of ESPN in the 1980s; Dr Frankenstein in his lab.

Funny thing is, as much as the Big Leaster's hate on BC....they should be hating on Virginia's meddling Governor. If the expansion had gone thru as planned (Syracuse instead of Va Tech) nobody would be talking about how bad the Big Least sucks in football, as 1/2 of their total power would still be in place. As it ended up, the ACC got all the Big Least's star power, the Big Least is left with a mix of mediocre football has-beens or pathetic never-beens.

Awwww, poor baby, what's the matter? Hate seeing the Big East doing well? Can't beat your chest about the All Crap Conference killing the Big East because the Big East is still doing well with two Top 25 teams, one being a virtual Top 10 team? Goes to show you how pathetic the ACC is. Your joke of a conference was dying so you had to steal another conference's team, and that conference replaces THOSE teams with BCS bowl and national title contenders. Heck, if it wasn't for the ACC's backstabbing the Big East wouldn't have had to invite Louisville. And no, they didn't steal Louisville they INVITED them, Louisville had been calling the Big East for the last 10 years, so they wanted to come. And improved basketball, taking the mantle of best basketball conference in America. I guess all that leaves is for you to whine like a little b*tch calling the Big East "Big Least" or whatever name you can dig up. The Big East is alive and well big boy, sit back and enjoy it. I know I'll enjoy watching your Clemson Tigers get their @sses kicked every day in the ACC by former Big East schools. And thanks for taking Boston College! But get over the bitterness and anger. I swear to god, I thought you were going to cry while you were typing that post about the Big East! LOL! So pathetic. :laugh:

Yeah, I guess those countless national championships in men's and women's basketball and winning seasons by the football team, including a 9-2 season and a bowl season, and victory, last year were creations of ESPN! :rolleyes:

Yeah...ok. The Big Least is alive and well huh?

Then maybe you can explain to me, since every other Big Leaster has ducked the question so far, where does the Big Least #2 go every two years when the Sun and Gator get the team they really wanted, Notre Dame?

And as for the former Big East (when they were there the conference deserved to be called by it's given name) teams "kicking Clemson's a$$" We went 1-0 vs former Big East teams in football, 1-3 in hoops, and 6-1 in baseball....so pardon me if I LMAO at that comment. In fact, in one season we did something no current Big Least team had done since 1997....beat Miami in the Orange Bowl. Maybe if you knew a little about college football you'd realize these things...but evidently not.

Though, I do have to cut you a little slack with you being a Cincy fan. You certainly can't know a whole lot about college football, what with your team pretty much being the Ohio version of the South Carolina Gamecocks....a lot of talk with nothing to show for it.
