That is because we were a little quicker and consistently drove to the basket, forcing them to foul or give up the lay up. Coach Pastner has done well in choosing the 4 out, 1 in dribble drive offense for this team.

I also noticed that we had much better ball movement against the zone when they tried it.

The team is organized and improving. We are playing good defense. The coaches are doing a good job this year.

#snicker.

Funny how we get called for setting illegal screens when we don't even know what a screen is.

Asking that question likely would sound ridiculous to those outside of the "fan" base, but judging by comments I've seen, it does look like the win ruined the night for many. Ponderous.

Chin up, miserables. Plenty of chances to bash still to come!

I've noticed there are far fewer miserables in 2015 than there were in the prior 4-5 years.

We're now down to the 5-6k true believers, while the miserables have moved on.

Since I'm still going to game does this mean I can come on here and pat myself on the back in 5 years when we are good again like the 4100 club does with football?

A win - automatically happy - why ask that question?

Sad that this is where we are now. Be careful what you wish for. (Example: ut football, when they ran off Fulmer)

You are correct. Sadly.

6 years after taking over with 4 scholarship players, Pastner has won 72% of his games. Won 150 games in 209 as Calipari needed 210. He has won over 20 games per year and has averaged 25 per year. He has won 2 Conference championships and 3 conf tournament championships. He has been to the NCAA in 4 of the 5 years he should be held accountable (leaving out his first year). He has graduated all the players who didn't transfer and at least 2 of those who did.

There have been ZERO off the court issues, and his players conduct themselves well and have been upstanding citizens. ZERO NCAA troubles, ZERO banners removed, and ZERO games vacated.

He has recruited in the Top 15 overall with this current class ranked 12th.

Yet, the "miserables'" highest and holiest purpose in life is to disparage Pastner....as they long for the messiness and ethical shortcomings of the Calipari/Pearl model.

Mind boggling to anyone who has ethical standards and holds The University of Memphis out as a standard of aspiration and achievement.

04-cheers A super fantastic post. A real eye opener to those who choose to see.

I'm happy, of course. Always love a win for the guys against a good named team on national TV. Also, if we have a good season that'll mean JP will get a good offer to leave, he'll be happy and the big boy boosters might save some money.

Sad a Tiger fan would even ask this question.

You, sir, hit the nail on the head! Has to be the most pitiful thread ever.

Can we get one of these threads after every game? not just the wins.......... I don't recall seeing any after the Ok or UTA games so what is the point?

Good win by the Tigers. For me it was unexpected which makes it double nice!

Sad a Tiger fan would even ask this question.

There were certain posts made after our victory causing confusion about the nature of people's feeling about the win. Some seemed more interested in discounting the win or in criticizing the head coach than celebrating the win. Also, I am under the impression that some posters do not want wins because each one helps Pastner retain his job. Losing to Ohio State would hasten his exit.

Therefore, I believe I asked a legitimate question. I appreciate everyone's comments - even those not addressing the question because they are enlightening in their own way.
