Shy NIU Christmas Shopping
Other than the 2 obvious destinations (Holmes Student Center & the VCB) where are the best places in & around DeKalb to find NIU clothing/swag for the Huskie fans on my Christmas list? Or to branch out, any stores in the SW or western 'burbs seen selling NIU merchandise lately? Thanks & give 'em hell this Friday, boys!!! 02-13-bananaCOGS02-13-bananaCOGS

Absolutely believe ..... they've got a great NIU section there! We've bought a ton of great Huskies gear there in the past. 04-rock

Doesn't finish line usually run a two-for-one sale on hoodies this time of year?

I thought it was in DeKalb? Did they move to a new location so they can get another 10 year tax break(standard operating procedure for Wal-Mart)?

Last year we found some great t-shirts & hoodies at the Meijer's store in Oswego, but upon returning today all we found were 3 baseball caps. Bummer!!!04-chairshot

Yes, they have that again but the cut was terrible. It seemed like the 2XL was closer to a medium.

I got a few one year. They were on the thin side...but I thought they fit fine.

Considering it was 2 hoodies for $40, I was really happy.

The ones they had yesterday were 2 for $35 so if they fit it's an awesome deal. Mine from a couple years ago still looks new and hasn't shrunk despite wearing it more than any of my other hoodies.

RE: NIU Christmas Shopping
I know Target in Sycamore has carried 1/2 an aisle of merchandise in the past & both the Walgreens & CVS in DeKalb have a very limited selection, but does that about cover it locally? BTW - Did Barnes & Noble close down? What the hell kind of college town doesn't have a friggin' bookstore nearby?!? 20 years ago I haunted the Junction Bookstore 2-3 times a week while my girlfriend worked at the restaurant. That place was fantastic! It just seems odd that an area so close to a university can't sustain a bookshop. 03-banghead05-nono03-weeping01-wingedeagle03-idea

RE: NIU Christmas Shopping
Target is also in DeKalb. B& N closed as a part of a national closure of stores in the chain. The Junction bookstore closed when B&N and Borders came to town.

Dicks on Randell Rd has a decent selection on NIU gear.

Just trying to be helpful, but for those wanting Toledo MACC shirts they are on sale now, they got a little too ahead of themselves. I heard they are like 99% off, but I don't have proof and this is just hearsay.
