i didn't feel like reading through the weekly prediction thread. besides, there are plenty of people that read the board and don't post and certainly don't post in the weekly prediction thread.

so who wins the second CUSA semifinal of the weekend?

my gut says la tech. that's no bust on southern miss at all. i just think they're a bit more powerful on offense. and they're at home. i do know if southern miss can go into ruston and take tomorrow's game i will be very impressed and a little worried about next saturday. tech has rolled most people at home if i recall correctly.

let's see where the board stands on it.

Since the NW State debacle last year Tech has gone 9-0 at home with an average score of 50-15. That includes blowout wins over Rice last year in a similar situation and also a blowout of MTSU. I haven't bought in to USM being better than average yet but we're about 14 hours from finding out for sure. Looking at their schedule there are some really bad teams on there. Couple that with them getting beat soundly by Marshall and me watching Marshall for the first time this year this morning and I honestly don't think USM stays within 2 TDs of Tech. Tech is finally healthy for the first time since about Week 3.

Another tidbit that I don't think has been talked about is that Tech is on quarter break. This means this week and next they can 110% be focused on nothing but football. If they come out and get whipped tomorrow there are NO excuses other than USM whipped our butts! Hoping for a rematch in Bowling Green next Saturday!

Well Stink, I'm hoping you revo psychoed yourself out of a win. I have done all of my routine things that will assure that TECH wins this. Your voodoo has been countered. I got my mojo on!

I haven't been this stoked about a game in some time....yeah, that includes our opener against the cowpatch nation.....

this one means something more....it's about achieving goals and maturing......and it applies to both schools....

I know, I'm weird with my thinking at times.....this is a big game as I looking forward......

Guess I'll go against the grain and pick USM. They have their mojo back, are on a streak, and have been dominating recently. LaTech is playing at home and is almost unbeatable at home so what do I know?

USM has been playing better and better each week this season and they will be really tough for us tomorrow. I haven't seen them play much this season but am looking forward to tomorrow's game and think they will provide a stiff test for us so I hope Holtz lets Driskel and company air it out early because we will probably need it to win.

This is a tough call.

I have to say, Tech seems like the favorite on the surface, but USM has truly been getting better each week.

I think either team can win, but i voted for USM based on their play as of late

3 or 4 weeks ago I would pick Tech by 14+ points...

still think Tech wins and that would set up a great rematch of the conference two best teams. Three or four weeks ago I would have picked Tech and the 14+ points just on their offense. Today I say Tech still wins but only because they are playing at home. Been really impressed with S. Miss the last couple weeks.

Tech wins unless they lose a couple turnovers for S Miss scores

At home in bad weather, Dixon's last game in the Joe, I think Tech handles business in this one.

looks like most think la tech will pull it out. it is at home for them. and their offense has been almost impossible to slow down in conference.

i know i'll be sitting here watching it in less than 3 hours now. good luck to both groups. now it's ya'lls turn to have the churning stomachs like i had yesterday.

I think I was just insulted!!

My money is on Tech. They're playing at home which should be a great advantage. We all expected Southern Miss to be much improved but I don't know if we expected a West title. It's a tough call but I think next year USM will host the CUSA championship game.

I know a lot of us are basing our picks on home field...

from the looks I saw this could be a neutral field crowd

USM baby.

I would have picked LT in a blowout before the game, but USM is really impressing me right now.

For WKU's sake I hope USM wins because regardless who is the tougher opponent, it's always tough to beat the same team twice in one season.
