Jimbo leaving FSU for LSU?
Aparently Les Miles told a group he is out after their game against Texas A&M.
Also reported LSU has been in contact with jimbo.

Honestly why would Jimbo leave for LSU...Lateral move at best-(IMO FSU is the better gig)...07-coffee3

Maybe he's tired of dealing with FSU's whining fans.

RE: Jimbo leaving FSU for LSU?
The amount of money LSU would have to pay to make this work is astounding. Not only would they have to pay buyouts for Miles and staff (could be over 15 mil), but then they'd have to pay Jimbo's buyout which is about 5 mil. Not to mention they'd have to pay him about 6 mil just to make him think about leaving FSU since he already makes over 5 mil.

FSU has one of the easier paths to the playoffs/major bowls every year. Why on earth would he want to deal with the headache that is the SEC.

Why would LSU force Miles out unless they knew they had his replacement?

Agreed...

Also agreed on LSU being a lateral move...

That said, I think Jimbo will leave FSU...I'm not sure why, but I don't know why he hasn't come out and said publicly that he's not available. Honestly I think the Jameis Winston stuff and all the drama has proven a lot for Fisher. I think he's going to leave

Hopefully I'm wrong....if not, maybe FSU can grab someone good...

This is the curse of Nick Saban. You saw what happened when Urban Meyer had to tap out. LSU is forcing out Miles and UGA is trying to force out Richt. Craziness....

It seems as quickly as a school gets a dollar, they find a stupid way to spend it. Joe Alleva left Dook amid an incident at Hyco Lake, seems as if someone may be hitting the bottle again.

Crazy year in football....wouldn't surprise me if Charlie Strong gets let go either....

If Fisher leaves FSU, what about Chip Kelly or Kirby Smart??

Chip Kelly would want too much and Kirby Smart isn't a good fit IMO.

I think Dan Mullen would do well. Herman would also do well.

Fort Worth Star-Telegram sports columnist who went to LSU says it's a done deal. Was on 1310 The Ticket and said his sources confirm Jimbo to LSU. Tomorrow Miles is out after the game.

This is shaping up like the Saban to Texas ordeal. All of these "insiders" with bad info stoking the fires of rumor and myth. I bet it's the same people talking about LSU getting Muschamp as DC too.

Maybe the two schools have worked out a trade - Miles for Fisher straight up with no buyouts on either end.

It's the typical M.O. for Jimmy Sexton. He represents Hugh Freeze, Marck Richt, Jimbo Fisher, Gus Malzahn, Tommy Tubberville, Steve Spurrier, Nick Saban, Bobby Petrino, Gene Chizik, and he may represent Dabo. He also handled Phillip Fulmer, and young Dooley when he was at Tennessee. He represents a goodly number of OC's & DC's as well including Will Muschamp and Kirby Smart. BTW he represents Tim Tebow and some NFL coaches as well.

He starts rumors to drive up prices and he garners 15% of the raise if I remember his last fee rate correctly. Controlling that many coaches he also is privy to recruiting violation stories, knows what scandals had to be covered up, and uses all knowledge to his advantage when dealing with universities. If they move he wins, if they stay and get a raise he wins. There were very few year's in Tubberville's stay at Auburn where he didn't hint that Tommy was moving. He was even behind the ill fated trip to Louisville via a Trustee friend of his at Auburn to try to coax Petrino to Auburn. He knew it was in violation of Tubberville's contract so he then exploited the plane flight to get concessions from the school.

Personally speaking I think we should shy away from any coach he represents. But he represents some good ones and that's the rub.

He thrives in situations like these. If you must name a culprit, you now have his name to cuss and discuss.

*Note I edited because it was Hugh Freeze and not Les Miles that he represented in the West Division of the SEC where he has 3 head coach clients.

So what's your prognosis JR? Who ends up at LSU and South Carolina? Does Mullen get out of Miss St? Does UGA can Richt?

Truly at this stage of the game it's anyone's guess. You never know which coaches have given him permission to shop rumors to drive up their paycheck and which ones are serious about leaving. I have heard that Fisher was wanting a fresh start after his divorce, but that is just in the gossip loop. Sexton would know for sure but he's the only one besides the coach. You can't leverage increases if the school's President and trustees know you are bluffing.

RE: Jimbo leaving FSU for LSU?
I definitely see FSU matching anything LSU offers. And I definitely don't see how it makes much sense for him to leave a job where he'll get paid as much as anyone in the nation and have an easier road to the playoffs. If Jimbo was leaving for the NFL, I'd get it, LSU naw.... This smells more like he wants a pay raise from FSU to me.
