i know you guys think you are targeting Bailiff, but you are actualling dissing the Team and the players, and on senior day to boot.
Either (1) the players are lousy and have gotten $200,000 worth of education at Rice when they should have played football at Southeastern Louisiana; or (2) the coaches are lousy for not getting good players to perform at an acceptable level. If you defend the coaching staff, then it is YOU who are "dissing" the players.
QED.
i wasn't defending Bailiff, I was attacking you for attacking him through attacking the team.
your theme is the players are lousy, so the coach is lousy. just skip the first part and go direct to the coach is lousy.
The really lousy things are your reading comprehension and your absence of a sense of humor. Early in the thread, I simply reported the SHSU score. Period. Some poster joked about their being a future conference mate. Someone else said no - they're not D3. Then, I posted the Mary Hardin-Baylor score to continue the joke. I never attacked the team or coach. But, when you acted all offended, I simply pointed out the illogic of your remark, and stated the obvious - if one is satisfied with the coaching during an unsatisfactory season, then the problem lies with the players. I have not been a "pitchfork" person. There are plenty of those on the Parliament.
If I missed the joke, it is because I no longer read the football game and postgame threads on the Parliament - too filled with vitriol for me. Still haven't, and won't. I enjoy the game(s) more in solitude than in the company of the Parliament now, exactly the opposite of the way it used to be.
So after the game I think, well, we won, maybe it won't be too bad, and the first thing I saw was people joking about DIII and Class 4A. Even if it was a running joke, it does not reflect well on our players that one thinks they might not win the 4A championship. Or at least it seems that way to me.
And, truthfully, I thought, if this is what we get from two of our best posters, I'm not even going to see what the worst ones had to say.
If I misinterpreted you and Wrysal, I am sorry. But for all of us, I would like to see the Bailiff criticisms limited to Bailiff, the staff criticisms limited to staff. The players do their best, give their all, and that is all we can ask of them.
Maybe if bailiff is fired, we can all have a year of pulling together. I sincerely hope so. If he is not, I expect more of the bitter vitriol that has become the hallmark here during the football season, even outright slander. Let's not let this negativity filter down to the players. let's keep our eyes on the target.
