Given a year or two to adjust, I'll bet Bailiff and the Owls can win that conference once. But when our talent level slides down to the DIII level, what's next from there? Based on our crowds would we be eligible for high school Class AA?

i know you guys think you are targeting Bailiff, but you are actualling dissing the Team and the players, and on senior day to boot.

Either (1) the players are lousy and have gotten $200,000 worth of education at Rice when they should have played football at Southeastern Louisiana; or (2) the coaches are lousy for not getting good players to perform at an acceptable level. If you defend the coaching staff, then it is YOU who are "dissing" the players.

QED.

i wasn't defending Bailiff, I was attacking you for attacking him through attacking the team.

your theme is the players are lousy, so the coach is lousy. just skip the first part and go direct to the coach is lousy.

The really lousy things are your reading comprehension and your absence of a sense of humor. Early in the thread, I simply reported the SHSU score. Period. Some poster joked about their being a future conference mate. Someone else said no - they're not D3. Then, I posted the Mary Hardin-Baylor score to continue the joke. I never attacked the team or coach. But, when you acted all offended, I simply pointed out the illogic of your remark, and stated the obvious - if one is satisfied with the coaching during an unsatisfactory season, then the problem lies with the players. I have not been a "pitchfork" person. There are plenty of those on the Parliament.

That might not be the best move for the Major.

especially if UH opens up
Would like to see meachum to Rice

I agree. Spoke to folks at TCU and they say he has been a difference maker with Boyken. They think the world of him. "Players like him and he is a very bright offensive coach".

Seriously we need to clean house, I cannot believe we have folks on this board still defending Bailiff on these boards. Nine years of the same lame excuses. The last game I attended I left early, I could not sit there and watch him clap for two quarters yet he looked lost. You can see the players don't respond to him. The folks behind us were so pissed they started booing him. Not sure if Karlgaard saw or heard this, he was not to far from it.

They have to make a change, not sure how Karlgaard can accept the lame excuses DB has been making.

Meacham is a heck of a coach. He and Levine had a mutual parting of ways at UH, but if you look at John O'Korn's stats under Meacham and then the few games he started last year before he was benched it is night and day. O'Korn might start at Michigan next year after sitting this year due to transfer rule. Then look at Boykin's stats the year Meacham was at UH vs the last two years. Meacham is a good coach. If Rice could land Meacham somehow, your offense would be instantly better.

If I missed the joke, it is because I no longer read the football game and postgame threads on the Parliament - too filled with vitriol for me. Still haven't, and won't. I enjoy the game(s) more in solitude than in the company of the Parliament now, exactly the opposite of the way it used to be.

So after the game I think, well, we won, maybe it won't be too bad, and the first thing I saw was people joking about DIII and Class 4A. Even if it was a running joke, it does not reflect well on our players that one thinks they might not win the 4A championship. Or at least it seems that way to me.
And, truthfully, I thought, if this is what we get from two of our best posters, I'm not even going to see what the worst ones had to say.

If I misinterpreted you and Wrysal, I am sorry. But for all of us, I would like to see the Bailiff criticisms limited to Bailiff, the staff criticisms limited to staff. The players do their best, give their all, and that is all we can ask of them.

Maybe if bailiff is fired, we can all have a year of pulling together. I sincerely hope so. If he is not, I expect more of the bitter vitriol that has become the hallmark here during the football season, even outright slander. Let's not let this negativity filter down to the players. let's keep our eyes on the target.

I think the "vitriol" will end as more and more of us walk away. Then the rest can sing kumbaya to whatever product is on the field.

Back to the thread - New England leads the Denver Ponies 7-0

If you think that's vitriol, then there is nothing anyone can say that isn't upsetting. There is a site called thinkprogress where people get offended collectively about nothing.

Patriots playing with half their offense out it seems, but still 10-0 and leading.

what makes Denver the good guys? Mediocre coach, beaten up and should be retired QB. Eh

Fear and respect the hoodie!

Osweiler makes them better honestly. Manning has been a liability this year. He is hurt and old. And likely done.

The defense is definitely the mainstay of Denvers success this year

And Gronk likely has a serious knee injury. Speculate it's an MCL - judging by the hit and how he was rolling in pain

As much as I hate to use injuries - the entire offense is now hurt. It's Brady, Blount and LaFell now

24-21 Denver now. Shocked it's taken this long. Let's see if the scrubs left can muster up a last go.

Luckily the Pats have a big lead in the division. Gonna be a rough end to the season unless Gronk and Amendola can come back

Going to OT. Some strange calls going against the Cheetahs, but they are still alive. Makes for interesting TV.

Really does.

Pats have their main two LBs out (Collins and Hightower) and their receivers are missing Gronk, Edelman, Amendola and Lewis.
