Although that Arkansas win down in Little Rock was one hell of a game to be a part of so I guess thank you for that.

I hope he goes 0-12 in his first season and I'd love nothing more than to see our Rockets schedule another series against that dismal program in Aimes, Iowa.

Toledo is one Alonzo Russell drop (NIU) and one Russell spear from being undefeated. Yet, most of the "fans" on this board act like the guy is a complete loser.

Toledo lost to a NIU Team using its 3rd string QB, and both losses were at home.

2 plays away. Badmouth/hate Cambell all you want, and most of you will. But, he was two A.R. mistakes (mistakes a senior should never make) away from a perfect season.

RE: Thank you Coach Campbell
MC and his credibility diminished on several counts 1). The bad timing of this fiasco 2). Not focusing on the job at hand (which was preparing his team for one of the biggest games in the GB for some time. 3). Assinine statements like " I really don't know what they are going to be paying me ". - Right !! You are going to move your family halfway across the country for a 6 year gig and you are unaware of the financial end of it. 4). Preaching loyalty and the process of doing it the right way(while he wastes no time to start doing the inevitable poaching of recruits). And the clincher, 5). Going on and on about how he was so enamored with the place(Ames, Iowa) when the Rockets were there last year. IMO, if he liked it so much, he should have slipped his resume in the AD's office then. Who knows, maybe he did !!

Thank you Matty Campbell for stealing all of Toledo's recruits this year that you and your "almighty" staff sought out with Toledo's money and support. Man, what a guy. I can see why MidnightBlueGold is head over heels about him 03-puke

I really wish that our players could see what he has done--to them.

It's the jilted lover thing.

Let's be fair and clear. No one has said they are upset that he's gone to the big pay-day. THAT would be leaving out a lot of motivations behind their feelings. This is NOT a jilted lover situation and speaking openly, I think it's demeaning to characterize it that way.

Real or perception, the bitterness is sourced in the HEAD COACH not having all his attention all the most important game for the university in over a decade and results that support that perception or reality.

This +1, hell +2.

I can't even imagine where the former coaching staffs' heads were this past week. Instead of truly focusing one of the biggest games of the season, they were too distracted by those dollar signs, I assume. Why else did we play so incredibly poor against a team like WMU? It was a horrible loss for our program and mister Campbell probably gave zero sh!ts.

According to tonight's Blade article . Campbell asked ISU to wait until after
the MACC, if Toledo made it.
Once the loss occurred, it was open game.

Wait for what? I thought he wasn't in talks with anyone??

We had two losses.
Not a perfect season.
And the WMU game could have certainly been different without the Zo plays.
But, you gotta admit that was the ugliest game we had played all season even without the Russell stuff.

A perfect season teams can get away with a sloppy game because atleast everybody's head is in it and somehow that seems to help make a bounce go your way at the end.
But Campbell and staff had checked out.
Zero urgency in the second half until the final drive when it was too late. And basically Ely made that drive happen.
