Yep, hearing "At quarterback, from Southern Mississippi, Number 4, Brett Favre" one last time was pretty effing sweet.

He looked like he is homeless while he was being interviewed during the game in the broadcast booth. You'd think he'd at least be presentable for national tv.

If you knew Brett Favre like we know Brett, you would realize your post is just humorous.

Funny thing is the Wrangler commercial, outdoors in his field, stereotypical Mississippi isn't really an act. He even can be seen mowing his own lawn from time to time at his house outside of Hattiesburg.

It was a great moment. I watched the Packers game because I wanted to see him one last time. And that hug between him and Bart Starr was an amazing sight. Congrats Brett! I would be proud to call him one of my own. You guys are lucky haha

Yes. Yes it was.

I really miss watching him play. You never knew what you were gonna get from him (good or bad), but you knew it was going to be interesting and he was going to do whatever he could to get a win (and have fun doing it).

partying and playing golf with that guy are easy targets....

it's a good thing I don't do memes

is akin to not having the internutz back then...."holy shite or fk me" comes to mind if that would've been the case.....

I severely scaled back my NFL involvement after Favre retired with the exception of Tebow's magical year. Favre was the last folk hero of the NFL. Folk heroes don't always win, but they go with guns firing and swords slashing.

Derek Carr wears 4 in honor of Brett Favre. He has brought me back to the NFL.

But I really miss my all time favorite QB.

I think most fans of the sport do...even when jordan emerged, you just knew it wouldn't be the same as bird vs magic....

there is something lost as the upper echelon of sport continues to 'progress'.....

the ol' adage, don't fix something that isn't broke comes to mind....

speed and size have changed the breadth of sport....the challenge is learning how to accept or deny the impact

I was sitting in the stands that day against Tulane when #4 first trotted out on the field. He rallied us to a win that day and the rest is history. I too said...."Who is this Favor kid"....I had heard about a freshman in practice who looked very good, but you hear that alot...I should have listened to the Ferrell twins who said we had an All American on the scout team....

Get a copy of Backyard Football 2002. Brett was the best all around pro player in the game. He could play QB, RB, WR and was a magnificent DB.

dayum.....you just described ray guy in real terms......

and both he and ray could also pound a golf ball into another plane of existence (ray did it with a ben hogan speed slot version) .....both were equally impressive to enjoy company....

it's just dadgum cool to have enjoyed participating with some amazing athletes at various points in my life.....it's really the best of living in a simple rural area after leaving the shithole of urbanites....

the trials and tribulations of 'brett' are what embodies all of us.....he just took it to a level he never knew existed.....he did pretty dayum good in totality.....

RE: OT: Brett Favre
Favre and Steve McNair were my two favorite QBs to watch growing up, with Michael Vick third.

With Favre you never knew what was going to happen. But you wanted to watch, regardless.

I don't think McNair had a full week of practice while he was in the NFL, but he was out there every Sunday, playing better than most.

Vick was just a show while he was in Atlanta. I'll never forget his OT run against the Vikings where the two Vikings players collided into each other and he ran out of the back of the endzone into the tunnel.

Side note: Green Bay fans have been some kind of spoiled the last 25 years.
