It's clear as can be that Lombardi was in over his head.

Thei Riddick suddenly is a weapon. O-line scheme is simplified and the QB has time and there is a running game.

Had they not got jobbed by the refs in two games they'd probably have a shot at a wildcard.

Someone should put Chip Kelly on some lists for the 20 something college openings, while we're at it. He has no business being a GM of a NFL roster. His running is Millenesque.

All those "big" personnel moves he mad last off season are blowing up in his face one way or another.

Eh, maybe.

Tampa Bay scored 45 on the Eagles IN PHILLY last week with a rookie QB and no WR close to Johnson.

Has as much to do with Eagles quitting on Kelly as it does lions' changes-improvement.

I meant Kelly's moves. I think Philly quit big time, they're fighting openly with each other on the sidelines, obviously there's something up since he made those weird moves last off season. They even accused him of being racist which would be the weirdest thing ever in the NFL this day in age.

Decided to go right back to what has NEVER worked; run, run, pass on third and long. Does such a disservice to the QB, and everyone else on offense. Jim Bob=Lombardi.

Ahh...Jim Bob called and Matthew threw 46 passes out of 70 plays, not counting four Sacks.

Rams only ran 52 plays from scrimmage. But Gurley carried 16 times for 140 yards and two TDs.

Evidence does not support your opinion, Your Honor.

Lions offense under lombardi: 20ppg
Lions offense under cooter (if you exclude the outlier in philly): 16ppg

They haven't really been that much better

Eliminate what we had to do when down by two touchdowns late, or one touchdown with two minutes left. Focus on the first down plays in the first half. End of game numbers are incredibly deceiving. I watched us run on first down, with less than stellar success, throughout the first half, and even third quarter. If you or anyone cares to look, mark down the play choice on first down, and the end result. You will find that when we run on first down we tend not to make first downs for that possession. When we pass, we do. Run on third and long now and then.

The announcers said the lions need to get better on third and long. I say bull; we need to avoid third downs. Gouge the opponent on first and second down. Third and longer than two yards generally means defenses are pinning ears back. It's harder the complete a 5+yard pass when defenses are playing to defend just that.

Listen MH, I am smart enough not to argue football x and o's with a guy who played and coached football for ages. If you want to debate criminal or civil procedure, I am in for that. Lol. But I see what I see, and I know I hate watching any team I am rooting for try to jam square pegs in round holes year in and year out. Unless we are doing something deceiving, let's stop playing into the defenses hands by doing what they want us to do. Today Our first several possessions were run, run, pass, punt. Drives me nuts.

RE: Jim Bob > Joe Bob
FYI - Lions passed on nine of 15 1st Downs in 1st Half, according to Play by Play.

The INT for Rams' only TD of 1st Half was on a 1st Down pass by Stafford.

Bottom line, doesn't matter what play calls are or who's making them.

How 'bout those Packers, though, huh?!

Most rushing yards in a game by the Packers since 2003 although it was against the last place team in the NFC East (leader of that division is 6-7 overall) so not sure how impressive that is or not. It was actually a close game in the third quarter. Packers just ain't putting teams away early like they had been early in the year/years past.
