...more fans in Maui than MAC teams do at home for rivalry games. It's impressive.

So they have 7,300+ fans at the game, which UT had for their game vs. bgSUCKS last year? That's impressive, considering that gym only holds 2,400.

Now don't get testy. I didn't say every MAC team. Just watching the game, it looked like more, but I am of the school of thought that nobody estimates crowds very well, especially me. Watching our teams in these tourneys and there is a small pocket of relatives and friends. KU had a nice crowd of fans there.

Kansas has more fans in Maui than.... their football team has for home games.

You can say 2,400 is more than "some" MAC rivalry games or maybe even "a few" rivalry games, but certainly not all, and probably not even most.

Yeah, but at the very least in saying "more than MAC teams", it has to be saying more than a typical MAC team.

NCAA figures on home attendance averages give ~2700 and ~2800 for the 6th and 7th teams, Ball State and CMU, both of which are more than the Maui gyms hold ... so both would clearly have more than Kansas has at Maui for "rivalry" games. Akron and Kent State averages in the 3,000's, but will be close to capacity for Wagon Wheel games.

Kansas really doesn't have a football program so there is not much for their fans to do from August till November when Hoops starts

According to the Dayton paper, UD sold 1800 tickets for their tournament in Orlando this weekend. Tomorrow they meet Xavier for the championship, first time the bitter rivals have played since X moved to the Big East.
