The Streak is Over for Northern Illinois
Found this to be a good article. Tough break with key injuries this season but what a run since 2009.

Not if Rod's coaching.

Rod won two big games this year... True I'm ticked that Huff only got three touches but hopefully Rod will eventually see that Huff is a difference maker and give him that chance. IF he can't learn to pass block throw him the ball! Put him under center during practice and see how he likes it when no one blocks for him...

RE: The Streak is Over for Northern Illinois
Every great program has a year like this. The 2013 Boise State team had similar problems keeping a healthy QB on the field. They ended up losing the division to Utah State who went on to beat NIU and Jordan Lynch in the Poinsettia Bowl. Boise went 6 - 2 in conference that year and ended up 8 - 5 on the season. The following year Boise went 12 - 2 and won the Fiesta Bowl. This program and NIU football are far from done.

True 'dat. There's one Huskie left to win it for NIU -- and that's PJ Fleck. :)

Let's hope he gets it done, long shot at best. PJ could not get it done against this NIU team, Toledo will be an equally tough task. Go get it done. Tell PJ to drop the family tree BS and put a Hard Way shirt on.

You bastards better ROW like your life is in danger.

With all due respect to US and as much as BG would love to exact revenge over their bitter rival....who do ya think BG is rooting for in the WMU v. Toledo game?
Let's see: They can hope for a WMU upset so they can try to make up for their Toledo debacle (and they may just do that) OR...
They can play what might be (and, I have all the respect to my Huskies...but I am objective) the 4th best team from West.

BG would and should be HUGE favorites or, against Toledo...underdogs.

Yes, I want the chance. Totally. No matter. Period.
But, can you imagine us attempting to keep up with BG where we are at right now?!
Again, YES I DO want our streak to continue, but the thought of us playing BG with what we have at our disposal right now.
Frightening.

agreed. if we SOMEHOW get in the MAC Championship, how are we going to win it? We are on our 5th string QB, with limited options. There are only so many golden horseshoes

The experience would be invaluable to Fiedler and get him better prepared to play in the bowl...

If NIU gets in, I predict by the end of the MACC, we'll all be recovering from Fiedler Fever!

Toledo's not happy. Especially their Ejected #9 WR who practically killed the WR DB Brown, hitting him in the head!

This is how he feels!
