If we want to keep football's enormous expenses from bankrupting the athletic department, we must improve conference affiliation.

Improving the football program is the only way to do that.

The stakes are lower for basketball, your athletic department would have to be incompetent to lose money year after year. There are only a handful of scholarships and coaches in basketball.

They are wrong on the # of students attending U of M . They say 12,281 full-time undergraduates.

U of M Undergraduates: 21,059 (2015) Wiki info.

If that makes any difference.

wiki says 17 undergrad 4k grad. We could also have many attending part time undergrad.
