Mizzou players are tweeting their support for Odom. The athletes appear to be driving that trainwreck up there, so don't get your hopes up for Odom as Memphis coach. Here's hoping a mystery candidate emerges out of nowhere like 4 years ago. We need an offensive-minded guy IMO.

Didn't you say "general fuente" wasn't going anywhere.

He got it wrong, forgive TC.

He may be awesome but Fuente having been OC under Patterson at a real program learning from a master was a better hire even 4 years ago.

Jacksonville state. I hope we don't hire a high school coach from prattville

Briles, Freeze and Malzahn were all HS coaches not long ago.

Would you prefer we hire a high school coach from Hughes, Arkansas?

In he has a national championship ring then interview him

Bill Clark would be a Homerun hire and the man can flat out coach should he get a look, which he should at least get a interview if we dont get Odom....he has IT....He has won everywhere he's been and he can Flat out recruit as well as he can flat out coach....PLus if He got the job "Not saying he will" he would 1- bring in some damn good Assistants and have alot more money to spend on them, 2- Have Better Facilities and Stadium and Money to work with along with a higher recruiting budget, 3- Has Deep ties into Alabama/Georgia/ Louisiana/ Florida and would again could Ad a Progressive OC same as Odom would Do....Again It's Odom's job unless he is hire at Mizzou...But Bill Clark should be interview by the Search firm in Plano as one of our targets should we not get Odom back.....The World Is Ours Memphis....

I'll defer to you guys that know Bill Clark a lot better than I do. But I gotta tell you, it'll be a pretty "meh" hire to most fans.

So was General Justin Fuente when he was Hired as well....Take it back 4 years ago when we were replacing Larry Porter and how bad it was then, Well UAB was Worse and Bill Clark in 1 season had them go 6-6....The man can coach, and once the Fanbase got to know him like they did General Justin Fuente they would like him too...."Not saying he's gonna be our Next Coach" just that Bill Clark should be on the list for interviews by the search firm in Plano should we not get Odom back here to Memphis...The World Is Ours Memphis....

Bill Clark and his family endured a lot to save UAB's football program.
Too much invested....move on to the next name on the list.

Whores will always get out of one bed and go to another bed if the price is right. Fact.

99% of the time, you're right. But I don't think Clark is that guy.

He turned down more money to join SEC staffs so he could remain at a school with no FB program...

Why not? You're not playing games and starting over from scratch will mean 3 years of almost zero pressure one you do start back playing. I can see his angle.....

Memphis is a better job, no doubt. Heck, Hoover High School is seen as a better job than UAB in some parts of that crazy state.

It's not about money or better job, etc...all that is in favor of Memphis. BUT, Clark has shown in the past that he isn't always swayed by those things. He has a lot of skin in the game at UAB...I think he sticks with it a few more years.

Why would he stay? I hear you that he has so far, but what is there to look forward to? I'm certainly not sold on him, but to say he's not leaving UAB makes no sense. And if he won't leave UAB, we don't want him anyway. Don't need that mentality here any more.

Journalists don't just make up Clark as a candidate for the Memphis job.
