And I never said you said he was leaving. I asked a question. Check your reading comprehension.

it makes it $600,000 more difficult than if he didn't have an extension. This is not hard logic. maybe reading comprehension isn't the problem, you may have other issues if you cant understand that. also you are naïve to think that " There is a .000001% chance Clark leaves UAB for any program period"

Memphis is/was prepared to offer Fuentes over 3 miles a season. A $600.000 buyout is weak and not going to deter programs from coming after Clark. Reading comprehension has nothing to do with this. I have my opinion and you have yours. Don't blame me because you can't distinguish a question from a comment you silly rabbit....lol.

Still laughing that u don't get it. My comment was that his extension will make it more difficult to buy him out if he didn't have the extension. Which is a true statement. Not sure what u don't understand. When u don't understand what I'm saying, that means you aren't comprehending it. Therefore you have poor reading comprehension. Get it now?

Damn dude, I don't agree with you. I fully understand what you are saying and I don't agree with you. That has nothing to do with reading comprehension. And don't even try to explain something when you can't even use proper punctuation and spelling. Do you get it silly rabbit? You probably don't.

also im glad you think you know what another university would consider a "weak" buyout would be. Maybe we should sign you up on footballscoop since you seem to have the inside information. Your knowledge on contract negotiations and buyouts could be used outside of blazertalk..or you cubicle.

First, Memphis has deeper pockets, but they won't be spending what they offered Fuente. They will be paying more than what we are paying Clark. Any money they save on Fuente will be spent on buying Pastner out.

Second, I can't imagine Clark working as hard as he has to bring UAB back and leave before the first football is snapped.

Third, the UAB administration will be helping Clark to pack his bags.

Helping Clark pack his bags. There was no use for the word "to". LOL glad we have plenty of English majors.

Memphis fans wouldn't like to hear it, but bottom line is that Clark could have had better jobs than the Memphis job in the midst of the conflict with the BOT. Yet Clark hung around. I'm not so naive to think that it would be impossible for Clark to leave, but I don't see it at this point. Maybe a couple of years down the road, but not after enduring what he did just to get to this point.

Clark did not work this hard and go through what he has because he didn't want to be the HC at UAB and make something of the program.

He's not going anywhere. Oh, he might, if he got a HC offer in the SEC or something of that order - which isn't going to happen. Not yet.

Memphis can suck it and go find someone else.

Memphis has more $
UAB has soon-to-be better facilities, plus Clark gets to build HIS own program from ground up. He'll have a chance to move, in 3-4 years, to a P5 school I'm betting.

Around the time our 2017 squad is 7-1 with an SEC pelt and a top 35 ranking, Ursa Minor will throw 5 mil of his own cash to make BC go away somewhere like NC St. or TCU.

Clark to Memphis is the most laughable thing I have heard since I went to see Rodney Carrington do his Carlos impression.

So far, the speculation seems to be limited to a couple of sports writers saying, "You know who Memphis should call? Bill Clark!"

Bill will be gone at the first solid opportunity which presents itself He has enough personal and sick days to retire. He is just renting in B'ham for a reason.

and you know this how? (I cant wait to hear this)

BTW He has passed up many opportunities that were indeed solid for more money that he signed a contract for. Some never made press.

Has the Memphis coach jumped ship or has something in principal? I think he would be crazy to leave Memphis for any SEC job right now.

All reports is that he is going to Virginia Tech. He has not denied it. Expect an announcement after their last game Saturday. Apparently it has been known within the administration for some time. I suspect it might be the reason the team has lost three in a row.

I had only heard South Carolina for him earlier, If I was him probably wouldn't take that job. I think it will be hard coaching after a living legend.

Memphis job now is better than Memphis job of the last decade.
Was it Fuentes?
Not sure I would want to be the next coach at Memphis.
Much better life being the savior!

I can't believe there are JSU fans that would take a break from yet another fantastic season in which they are the top seed in the FCS playoffs to talk Bill Clark smack. Their new coach is seemingly just as good at that level, HCBC would be wasting his talents at JSU and eventually will outgrow UAB someday too.

Bingo

One can by time in the Retirement System of Alabama. My assistant left University Hospital for five years, returned and bought his time to cover his lost years. But, I don't think Clark will leave UaB until a least one year of Blazer football take two is done.

RE: Clark on memphis' radar..
I don't think Clark is going anywhere but it has nothing to do with the Alabama retirement system. If it is about money, why would he turn down a couple of million dollars for a retirement pension. The right job come along, he won't ever have to worry about what he left behind in his Alabama pension account.

That is just a straw that Blazer fans are grasping. Hope in him staying should be based on the hard work he has done to bring the program back and the loyalty to the players he has talked into taking a chance to come here. He didn't do all that work just so he could complete his pension plan.
