TU v Tulane Predictions
OK boys and girls, here is the gist of it imo. We are playing for something tangible and Tulane is just playing for pride. Our season doesn't end if we win, theirs does regardless. To me that should be the difference.

Now, Tulane is a better FB team than their record imo. But I just get the feeling that they are ready for this year to end. My limited proof of it is their poor performance against SMU (a runaway Mustang victory). But of course that was in Dallas. This week they get to show off for the home folks and have a last chance to honor their seniors. But you can't just change overnight and I think that Tulane will lose respectably. Not by as much as I want, but enough to get us to a bowl.

For our program, this is the biggest game since we beat Fresno St in the Liberty Bowl (2005 I think). It is a defining moment. We MUST win. If not, it will be a long off season with only marginal improvement from last year to this.

But we will and should win this contest because we are a better team with a better staff and better players overall.

So:

Tulsa - 42

Tulane - 28

*There is a wild card and that is the performance of our QB. DE is capable of the "mystery" turnover like the one last week (a safety) against Navy. One of the worst brain fxxts I've ever seen by a QB. As TU's own Dr Phil once said ---- "What in the HEXX were you thinkin!!!!".

That play wasn't Dane's fault at all..and Navy kicked the ball out of bounds. It shouldn't have counted.

I actually think 42-28 is just about right. As I've said before, Tulane can look real good on one drive and the next three drives, you won't even recognize them. I think we win because there are a number of Bowl committees praying we win too.......they want anyone with 5 wins to win this week!!!

I was a little confused with the weather forecast for Friday night in New Orleans, so I checked the Weather Channel. According to that site ---- High =75, Low =63, Mostly sunny, 20% chance of rain. So if that forecast is correct, we should have good weather conditions. But its just Wednesday and I'll keep checking.

Go TU!

RE: TU v Tulane Predictions
According to reports out of NO, the Tulane FB coach will be replaced after the TU game. Some of our fans think that will motivate Tulane, but I'm not convinced it will because:

1. Its a short turnaround week and I doubt Tulane will be truly ready if the coaches have their minds on other things.

2. Tulane was blown out in a game they thought they could win last week - so there's no reason they should instantly become better than that effort.

3. Most of us don't know what goes on inside a competing program. There could have been dissension or a lot of the upper classmen could have mentally quit. Thats hard to overcome.

4. An example of what CAN occur is the UCF program which obviously is looking out for their own individual welfare than that of the team.

5. There probably won't be a lot of people in the stands to motive the players.

6. The weather will evidently be good, so they won't have mother nature to assist them.

7. Most of the time when this occurs the players are more confused than they are fired up - which creates mistakes.

8. TU is the more motivated team with everything on the line.

9. TU is just a better team even though Tulane has some talent.

10. Does Tulane even have an off/def gameplan this week? Possibly not.

IMO - But then this is just conjecture on my part.

I'll guess 38-17 in Tulsa's favor. Although the scores could easily go higher than that.

Still no change in forecast. Dry and probably in upper 60's.
