RE: Black Friday specials
Wow, $10 seats - even for the upper deck - is a deal for the big games. It's kind of sad, however, that those games wouldn't just sell out at regular price.

Some of those upper deck seats are really bad. My wife and I wouldn't take free tickets to watch a game from the top 10 rows or so, no matter who the opponent.

I respectfully disagree. I've been fortunate to have not had seats up there too often; however, I think $10 is a good price for them.

I have sat way up top as well and still enjoyed it. Some people will complain no matter what you do, but I appreciate that they try to make such a wide range of price points. Some games I don't mind paying up for, but if I'm taking the kids or my buddies don't want to pay 30-40 per ticket, it's nice to have options.

There was a time when the Shoe regularly had crowds had 12,000+ while in conferences like the Great Midwest. Now people act as if those seats are laced with a deadly virus.

RE: Black Friday specials
I have to admit that I've been spoiled and had great seats through our family business since Shoemaker opened. Business was sold this year so I no longer get good seats to every game. I got free seats to a preseason game and took my niece who of course wanted to go all the way to the top. Those seats aren't nearly as bad as I remember.

WIth HDTV being the norm I certainly understand why people don't go down to the games. I sat up top for their first regular season game with my kids and even they commented on how hard it is to see the court.

The Shoe has become underrated in how good of a place it is to watch a game. I still love it and have no issues being in the upper deck.

Last time I HAD to sit up top was when #2 Nova came in. If the game is exciting you tend to forget how far from the action you are.

The worst seats in the house aren't at the top. The worst seats are lower in the upper deck, right where people come out of the tunnel. People hit the top of the stairs, stop...and sometimes stay until the action is over. Sat there once, but never again. Too many people pausing so they wouldn't miss the great play at the expense of those sitting behind them.

Those are the only seats not worth sitting in at any price.

Are people not aware that they need to wait until their is a pause in play to enter/exit the seating area? Why does a group of 4-5 hog a sidewalk and individuals have to walk either right through them or go around them on the street. Whatever happened to basic manners and awareness?

On the lower level the ushers stop them from entering until a pause in action. Or at least they did earlier this year.

Been doing that for years. Not so upstairs. I'm quite happy with my $99 Bearcat Lair seat vs. my former $600 seats by the north hoop.
