If they can't figure out a way to score at least three points against another MAC team after three seasons under a coaches regime then we have a serious problem. I wasn't even expecting wins just field a competitive program. It reminded me of the losses we had in the early 90s where it seemed like the program was lost in the wilderness and after each loss you knew the situation was hopeless. I enjoyed winning football and I don't want to go back to being known as the worst team in the country, perennially in the ESPN Bottom 10.
Looks like Akron wil get a bowl - simple formula beat 3 Bottom 10 MAC teams and us (probably a Bottom 10 MAC team) add in UB and ULL

Anyway we can steal Phil Longo away from Sam Houston to be our OC. He has had a successful offense at each school he has been at. All have been FCS or lower.

Per the RC, Joel Nielsen put to bed any rumors of PH leaving offering him a vote of confidence

A vote of confidence and reassurance that they can go on another out of town retreat.

I don't care if they spend a week in St. Moritz as long as it's productive.

A trip to Xenia or wherever? No big. Even given the apparent result.

He has 2 years left on his original contract. PH will get one more year at least to figure this out.

a new O staff would be a step in right direction

The biggest hoax played on the college FB coaching scene is, "This is a long process and we want to do it the right way". This is BS. Good coaches show their worth in no more than 3 years. I did not say win the championship. I said show the worth. If you inherit a completely depleted program, you may have to fill some holes with transfers and junior college talent. No good coach with potential is going to have a team look worse in the 3rd year over the 1st year. I am not saying fire PH, but I do want him to stop peeing on my head and telling me that it is raining. Just do the job.

RE: Akron Game
What I'm not buying is that Kent State is likely to improve next year. You have to be able to pin your hopes for improvement on a some players that could make a difference. Who do we have on our roster that will help Kent State improve from 4.2 yards per place to 5.2 yards per play (and 5.2 still stinks, it would be 100th out of 128 NCAA teams, but that's where Acorn is at). I don't see any.

I don't want to give Haynes another year if it's not likely there will be improvement.

There isn't even a 'KSU Football Recruiting Class 2016' thread going yet. Maybe we'll hire an OC who can quarterback the team.

RE: Akron Game
Haynes seemed like the perfect candidate SEC DC and alum. We have MAC Head Coaches leaving to take coordinator jobs in the SEC for goodness sake. I just want a 6-6 season.

It's been a long while since PH has picked up a recruit
