Proud to be a Huskies!!!
Tonight was pretty disapointing but what a year. We lose Drew Hare and Ryan Gram and still had a great chance to win conference. Also let's look at other teams who have a great year and then next year they completely fall off the face of the earth. UCF, Fresno State, hell boise had a down year for them. There are probably others as well. The program has come so far and I guarantee niu will be back in the race next year.

Yes, strangely I do not have a sick feeling after this loss. I have enjoyed watching the team this year, they have fought through a lot of adversity.

Thank god we have someone that has a positive attitude. I'm disappointed in the result and NIU not making it to Detroit, but the woe is me attitude has been unreal. Perfection is basically impossible to attain and like 90% of people on this board expect it. It's annoying. You know how many programs would die to go 8-4 when you played 3-4 string QBs for the last four games? A lot.

Totally agree...we must have been writing positive posts simultaneously.

I'm still holding out hope for a Toledo loss on Friday.

I'd also like to mention niu has maintained the academic success as well as keeping the program clean with no ncaa violations. There are bigger things in life than football and the fact that we have been so successful in the mac and beating teams like Iowa purdue and Northwestern are the baby steps to maintain the niu football tradition.

8-4 is what many were expecting at beginning of year. A healthy Hare and we are 9-3. Still look how the champ fought to the bitter end with a 5th string QB. Proud of Huskies.
Remember, Toledo is still capable of losing to WMU and we will be back in Detroit.

All things considered it was a very successful season. We showed our defense is taking steps in the proper direction, both in the trenches and specifically in the secondary. We have a great chance (if healthy) to be a juggernaut next season. 3 carries for Huff though? Yikes. To live and die with Joel is mind boggling.

Yes and no, blocking is an important part of being a running back. He did whiff on the rusher that clobbered Graham. Still you can pull him out, make your point and give him another chance. He was running the ball better than ACRB who did not have a great night.

Always proud..I certainly hoped things turned out differently, but this team will be back and they will want it bad.

I won't go that far. He is pretty darn good, but I agree Huff is by far the better runner. The problem is he may not be dependable at keeping the QB alive. The play that Graham got hurt sure looked like a missed assignment by Huff. Considering Carey has earned the benefit of the doubt, I have to think that is something they have observed in practice, explaining why the clearly better runner has not played more. I have been begging for more Huff all year (probably back to last year based on a few carries I saw from him in Spring ball), but if he can't be trusted to make a basic block that is a major problem.

RE: Proud to be a Huskies!!!
Very tough night, very disappointing. But Ohio was and is a good team, and we needed our A effort, got our D+. Even the sure-handed Beebe has the muff punt. Defense dropped a few potential picks. And even before the injury, Graham looked bad. And let's not even start on the O-line.
Still, very good season, let's hope we end on a high note.
