Prohm is at Iowa State now. Doubt we'd ever have a chance.

Exactly, Steve Forbes is the only one on this list that could happen.

I agree. Not saying the $ is not there and yes I know they are different sets of boosters. Pastner's buyout is astronomical. Maybe we get lucky and he goes somewhere else I seriously doubt it - the word is out on him.

Potentially paying for a new FB coach + New bball coach + Pastner's buyout.

That's a lot of scratch.

I truly think we are stuck with pastner for 1 maybe every 2 years.

Pastner's buyout is astronomical.

From the way I understood it, the offer was there to stroke a check for the buyout last year. Don't think much has changed going into this season.

The university is hemorrhaging money right now on this deal. Season tickets, no attendance, merchandise, concessions, parking, nearby businesses, etc.

Everyone is taking a huge hit. Don't expect it to last another year.

I guess I should keep that angle in mind - TSF hasn't gone down a single cent, I should know.

The university is calling folks who used to have tickets and trying to get them to sign back up. They are desperate.

So the difference will be that losing Fuente should net us some buyout money. That is, unless Bowen has once again screwed the pooch in the contract negotiations and not included a buyout clause.

May be worth keeping an eye on what Will Wade does at VCU this year. Bryce Drew also is intriguing.

Obviously the big donors know how they want to spend their money, and finding a good replacement for Fuente comes first, BUT letting Pastner stick around even one more season would start to add up anyway in all kinds of lost revenue.

We can assume the donors want to see a return on their investment....letting things languish to that level in bball would just be stupid on their part, IMO.
Of course, it could be argued that letting things get to THIS point is pretty stupid, too.

Let's spice it up - sub out Ben Braun for Kevin O'Neill.

Brad Underwood, Steve Forbes, Will Wade, Bryce Drew, etc.

Just like for football, there will be more than enough options if you know what you are looking for and not just going for a "name" or to win the press conference.

Agree - I was liking the thought process as much as the names.

If not Ryan Miller, how about Preston Laird?

Shyrone Chatman? Vance Walberg?

Etc.

Will Wade or Steve Forbes wouldn't cost much more and they both have head coaching experience. Stoudamire worries me.

There are probably 500 coaches in organized basketball who could beat what Pastner is doing. Folks, we could not win the O V C with Pastner as our coach.

I dropped from 7 basketball seats to 2 this season. If Pastner remains, I will buy zero next year. That would do away with my TSF donation altogether.

It is sickening to watch a mess like last night 's game and then listen to the usual pablum on the post game interview with the coach.

I really do think there are a lot of good basketball coaches in bad/unknown situations that would be able to do a better job if given the keys to this program.
