1. Kentucky

3. MSU
13. Indiana
16. Purdue

... and concluding how much stronger the SEC is than the Big Ten in college hoops, with the Big Ten having two strong teams and nothing else, while the SEC is strong across the board?

Uhhhm, interesting analysis. Let's filter out the "two strong teams" effect and look at the AP poll points excluding the top two teams from each.

Big Ten: Indiana (846) + Purdue (550) + Iowa (20) + TSUN (3) = 1419
SEC: LSU (285) + Texas A&M (100) = 385

Yeah, things were so bad two B1G teams were in the Final Four last season.

The Big Ten is doing really well in both football and basketball this year. That's just reality.
