1. Kent and Ohio both have many satellite campuses which push their numbers up.
2. Toledo is now at 20,325, BG is at 19,172 as of fall 2015.

Does this number include the students enrolled at the Medical College?

RE: MAC enrollment
Kent and Akron are in a metro area 6 times larger than Toledo and compete only with CSU for the local population who doesn't want, or can't afford to go far from home or to a private school. Toledo on the other hand has competition from BG and EMU for the local students. Not surprising Kent and Akron have much higher enrollments.

RE: MAC enrollment
It seems to me I've heard from a couple sources that the # of kids graduating high school from the Toledo metro area and going on to college has declined steadily (particularly from within the city of Toledo). As a result, UT competes head-to-head with largely Kent State and Akron for Cleveland-area high school grads, and to a growing extent with EMU for Detroit-area grads...and then of course with BG for NW Ohio (and to a lesser extent, schools like Lourdes, Tiffin, Defiance College, Adrian College, Siena Heights, etc...). Just a lot of colleges in a 200-mile radius, with a growing cost of education making it less affordable...

The number of high school grads in Ohio is going down every year.

Is the population of youths decreasing or is the percentage graduates decreasing? While both provide problems, the later is more concerning than the other.

Third largest in terms of overall budget size after OSU and U of C That is still correct primarily due to the budget size of the Health Science Campus.

RE: MAC enrollment
Is UT still open enrollment? I thought that had changed in the last 10 years or so as well? 3rd largest budget and a smaller number of students sounds like a good thing to me.

RE: MAC enrollment
Some other very important criteria that are very important in addition to the # of students. UT is in the top tier compared to other MAC schools and Ohio Schools in terms of overall endowment size and also has a very low debt ratio compared to our peers. Endowments provide money to the academic size, the larger the endowment the more they can help. Debt is a drag on revenue that could be used for the academic side, the more debt you have larger amount of revenue has to go toward principal and interest. The past administrations have done a very good job on those two very important items.

UT is 5th in the MAC in endowment and will move up to 4th when UMass leaves, so that's certainly in the top tier of the conference. But, I'm not sure you can say UT is in the top tier of Ohio schools. They come in 9th in terms of Ohio schools as of FY 2014.
