There are plenty of FBS schools just as difficult to get to as App. Nothing like psyching your team out before you even leave La.

Maybe if he wore looser shirts he would not be so hot under the collar.

Welcome to FBS. If you want a regional bus league, you are at the wrong place... I recall App fans being told that, am I correct? Thanks Hud for planting this difficulty in your players heads.

60 degrees at kickoff, that is perfect weather, was hoping to get a 40 degree game this year.

Nothin could be worse than the travel we had to Idaho last year. Our ame was the same week as Washington State homecoming, so we couldn't stay in Pullman, but rather 2 hours to the West. Nothing quite like a 2 and a half hour bus ride on game day.

A regional bus league? LOL. Isn't he saying just the opposite? As in, it's nice to be able to fly to a city that actually has an airport big enough to accomodate jet service instead of bi-planes, and moderrn roadways to get you where you want to be in a hurry. Does Boone not have an airport of any size?

Boone has a private airport, but I don't think any aircraft that would be carrying a football team could fly into it. People forget that not only is Boone a small town, but there's virtually no flat space and it's surrounded by peaks. No modern roadways though? It's literally four lanes coming into Boone from every direction. I've heard they might even be paving it soon!

Lol 4 lane highways from east and South that were built in the last 5 years and people act like they may as well be traveling to Nepal. Fly into Hickory Regional then take a bus 1.5 hours up a 4 lane highway into Blowing Rock, then drive 15 minutes on GameDay from Blowing Rock to Boone on what is again mainly 4 lane highway.

I heard Blake complain about the wee hours arrival home but that's less a Boone problem than a TV problem. Unless I've missed something that was 90 minutes later than App normally kicks off when the Mountaineers get to choose the kickoff time.

When we have our say we kickoff at 3:30. UL starts at 2:00 pm.

We typically choose 3:30, but for the the Thanksgiving game we have chosen 2:00 in the past as the sun sets earlier and it can get cold, wouldn't have mattered today however.

From Hickory, it's an hour bus ride to Boone and 30 min to Banner Elk for the full-service hotel. From Hickory-Boone, maybe 5 miles of that drive is two-lane and it's under construction going to four lanes next year. It is a little windy.

From Tri-Cities, it's all four lanes and relatively straight. 45 min to Boone.

For a cross-country jet like our trips to Idaho and Montana, we had to fly out of Charlotte and Greensboro, respectively. But to and from Louisiana, Hickory and Tri-Cities are fine.

I am not even sure if Hickory is 1 hour away. It is charter only but has a computerized ATC system that is in place. I have no idea of landing fees but at one time when the industry was regulated Hickory was served by jets of a size that could hold a football team I would think. This airport is on the Boone side of the city. Google has the time as 1 hr 4 min to KBS but that may include traffic around the construction in Blowing Rock.

14-0 app, another cox TD. You can tell those poor Cajuns are really tired from the horrible ordeal they have faced getting to this game.
