3 ranked in football, 3 ranked in basketball... I like the trajectory.

#36 Tulsa beat #20 Wichita State

#40 Northern Iowa beat #9 UNC

Seems legit... love how they can't admit they are wrong, even this early in the season. One win doesn't mean the world when there is a resume to look at, but when there is a heads-up game and only 4 games on the resume... come on.

Ya, no offense to Cincy and the Cincy fans, but you haven't played anyone. Cincy looks really good, but we've yet to see them play a team with a name. That should be Tulsa's spot.

Names, favoritism, and reputations are a lot to overcome in the world of polls.

When the other teams get a big head start it takes a lot more than one loss to push them significantly down the rankings as they get the benefit of the doubt.

I agree UC has played nobody, but you can't blame UC for Tulsa not being ranked.

Duke, N. Carolina and and Virginia with losses all ready good thing for them they play in weak ACC where they can pad their win column with the likes of an always overrated and under achievers Syracuse and Pittsburgh.

I'd argue UC should have been ranked to start the season, and that this is merely correcting that error.

The same logic that would apply to ranking UC in the preseason would apply to Tulsa as well. We both returned everyone and added some talent as well. So, I could see both teams being ranked preseason, but they weren't. Then Tulsa goes out and beats a top 10 squad and 2 mid majors who are much improved over last season and barely gets anything while UC beats up on some cupcakes and they are suddenly worthy.

I'm not saying you're not worthy. Just that it's too soon to call. Not that my argument matters since I have a feeling Tulsa will lose to this USCe team tonight

UC went to the NCAA tournament last year, won a first round game over Purdue, and then gave # 1 ranked UK (at the time) all they could handle in a 2nd round game. They are not "suddenly worthy".

I don't think Tulsa made the NCAA tournament. There is a difference.

Good luck tonight - I will be rooting for Tulsa.

I felt that UC should have been ranked to begin with, and the current ranking - as someone else stated - may be somewhat of a correction. I don't get why Tulsa isn't ranked, though. As you said, you guys beat a Top 25 team and two historically good programs. Even more confusing is the Sagarin rankings. We're 9th and Tulsa is 67th. How on earth does that happen, given the respective schedules?

LOL. Houston legit. Houston has played no one. Hell ECU has played tougher competition than Houston.

LOL. Playing a garbage schedule, but talking crap.

I am not the one ranking Houston 55-84th in the nation. Or ECU 170-195th.

Rather, people who try to predict scores are.

We only get ECU once this year. At your place. Let's revisit then.

We can visit it right now. Until Houston actually plays teams other than in the SWAC; then the rankings are bullchit.
