Great analysis as usual.

I thought it was, that's why I posted. Glad it upset you

Nobody in their right mind wants the guy gone. If he stays after this season, it probably means that he's in for the long haul and I'd break out the champagne.

But facing the likely reality, he's probably going to move on to a bigger/better job soon. Nothing wrong with that.

^^This. I don't think there's anyone here that wants him gone.

Ahh.. here we are again. Embracing the pain of uncertainty together. It never gets tiresome.

I'm not taking a shot at "MemphisCanes" - seriously - I just don't know the handles around here well enough to buy stock in this.

I couldn't find a source for that. Mack Rhoades is the athletic director at Missouri. He was formerly the AD at Houston and hired Tom Herman.

I'm the source, you won't find a quote or link on the internet. This was asked of Rhoades by a personal compatriot of mine on Saturday.

Is anyone else sick and tired of pessimistic Tiger fans who think nothing good will ever consistently happen to us?
Trash me if you will but I believe Fuente will stay and continue to build the football program to the level he set as a goal. Will he leave at that time, who knows? But he is definitely not there yet.

Thinking about someone leaving isn't optimistic or pessimistic. I know I keep driving this point into the ground, but our whole Athletic Dept and backers are looking towards improvement no matter who is the head coach. Change is just the nature of the game.

I can't trash you for that. Sorry. 04-cheers

Not saying you but those who are saying and or implying he's definitely leaving are being pessimistic in my opinion.

It will be interesting to see how Les Miles throws a wrench into things.

I'm not overly concerned about Fuente going to an SEC job, as I dont believe he would think he's a good fit. Georgia is a huge job, but you have to have connections with casino chips to recruit in the SEC.

VT is a good gig.

I'm not overly concerned about USC, as I think they have to go big.

If Strong leaves Texas for Miami, that could be a problem. If Stoops leaves Oklahoma for USC, that is a big problem.

Interesting. I know the SEC West is no fun, but I wouldn't pin VTech as a better job than MSU.

Va Tech is a much better job than Miss St for a lot of reasons #1 being you dont have to get past Alabama, lsu or auburn every year to get to the conference champ game

I'm actually hearing that Richt will coach UGA next season. Probably means he's overhauling his entire staff, but I think he'll get a year to salvage it.

I think Mullen regrets not getting out of Mississippi state when he had the chance last year

I believe its better for a number of reasons. Its certainly easier to win a conference championship at VT. And recruiting tactics are probably 5 levels lower on the sleeze factor at VT.

Nothing is keeping him from leaving this season. He's got them playing well enough that his name is still in demand.

Oh I completely agree. I was just saying. I'm sure he's not going to pass up another chance to leave
