RE: Can Broncos go to a Bowl at 6 and 6?
The International Bowl was a great event. I remember the "battle of the bands" the night before the game in particular. And Toronto was just awesome. It's too bad that bowl went belly up!
I also kinda miss the California Bowl tie in with the west. I'll never forget watching the California Bowl as a freshman in the Garnaue/Harvey lounge when WMU faced Fresno State.
I would love to see the Poinsettia Bowl become a mid-major bowl between the Mountain West #1 versus the MAC #1. If there is any bit of jealousy I have for the Big Ten it is the Rose Bowl and everything affiliated with it!

Quote:For those of you who think this will be a "reward" for our Seniors - ever consider the possibility they'd like to be done?
Heck no! Wouldn't a senior want to go out with the team's first bowl win? The only way I think a senior would just want to be done is if during the season he was just wanting the season to be over -- as if he was having a miserable time... OR that the team we'd be matched up with would be a "definite loss" in their eyes just to make things worse or something.
Quote:Which with this diluted team pool and plethora of bowl games will mean very little.
I disagree, since it'd be the chance to give WMU it's first & only bowl win. With the plethora of bowl games and them meaning less, not even having won one ends up meaning more.

It won't mean much more than a regular season win. I'd give us a 35% percent chance of winning one, since one, we don't play good teams very well, and two, Air Force and Boise State would crush us.

On paper in terms of measuring/judging us for the year of 2015, I agree. You could say that for just about any non-New Years bowl or obviously any BCS bowl, for any team. But for us, it would mean more from a senior's perspective if they liked their team and liked playing for WMU -- not only to end the season with a Win, but also to give them their first & only bowl victory.

On paper, in terms of of it being a win, it would count as a win.
For us, we would look at it as a huge breakthrough, but in the days when a bowl win really doesn't mean what it did in the old days, I doubt it'll carry much water. In other words, we're making a big deal out of it, not anyone else.
