Just an SEC East problem?
Ole Miss lost to Memphis
Arkansas lost to Toledo
What's more, LSU just lost to both Ole Miss AND Arkansas in the last 2 weeks.
No one is saying some other conference is invincible... just that the SEC is NOT all that special, either.
North Carolina lost to south carolina
The acc dumpster fire is not a myth.

But Toledo is good. They beat the team that otherwise would be considered the best in the MAC, Bowling Green. As a matter of fact, they smashed them.

The 3 worst teams in the SEC (South Carolina, Mizzou, and Auburn) all have out of conference wins against solid opponents (UNC, BYU, and Louisville).
The SEC only has 2 losses against unranked OOC opponents, and one of those was Western Kentucky (who is getting votes). If that doesn't tell you that most SEC teams are quality opponents, I don't know what does.
Ah the old our worst teams are better than your worst teams argument.
Just because Georgia Tech beat Florida State doesn't mean the Jackets are good this year same goes for Nebraska beating Michigan State.
You've left out Vanderbilt and Kentucky. The average to poor football teams in the SEC are deeper than you wrote. Throw in Arkansas too with their loss to Toledo without their best player and to a bad Texas Tech team.
The SEC isn't awful, but it has declined - that's unmistakable.
It is not the conference it was 4 or 5 years ago.
That's actually part of the problem. The SEC has believed their own hype so much despite every advantage in college athletics, has fallen back to the pack somewhat.
It's just another conference now with 1 really good team.
The SEC isn't "my conference."
I'm just saying that Alabama, Florida, and Ole Miss have played more games against competitive opponents than any other ranked teams except Stanford and maybe Notre Dame. That's a huge consideration - games against crappy opponents don't cause nearly as much wear and tear.
If you're saying that Texas Tech is "bad," then 40% of the Big 12's conference games are against bad or terrible teams. And 75% of the ACC. Illinois, Rutgers, Maryland, and Purdue are terrible, and IU, Minnie, and Nebraska are about the same as TT. How many SEC teams are so "bad" that they're pushovers? I think that BYU, UNC, and Louisville fans would disagree with whatever number you come up with.
I guess what I'm saying is that you can't just say that everyone sucks - that makes no sense. You have to compare them to something.

With only 3 ranked teams and only 1 in the top 10, it certainly is not a myth; however next weekend the ACC in FSU can also expose the SEC as a dumpster fire if the Noles beat the Gators. Florida needed OT to beat Florida Atlantic, if FSU plays how they are capable, how large of a win margin will they have 17, 21 possibly more?
No matter how they play next week Florida represents the SEC East in the conference title game. If they pull off a miracle and beat Alabama, the SEC will not be in the CFP

Agreed... Everybody doesn't suck and everybody isn't great either.
The power 5 conferences are so close to each other these days that arguing conference strength is splitting hairs.
Sure I'd agree for example the ACC is not top to bottom as strong as the SEC, but can the best ACC teams compete with the best SEC teams?
Sure... Same goes for any other power 5 conferences.
Can you really separate the Big 12 from the SEC?
5 years ago I would say many SEC teams were heads and shoulders above the rest of the country. Not so anymore...
This great chasm between the SEC and the other conferences just doesn't exist now.
