Notes from Niceville - Emerald Coast Classic
The arena at NW Florida State College is a great little setting for a basketball game.

Apparently, any reason to get out of Iowa was a good one. We fans will be severely outnumbered tomorrow if we manage to advance.

I did expect more green in the crowd than I'm seeing. The weather is beautiful, come on down for tomorrows game, we will find a ticket or two for you.

George Niang is thinner and faster than we saw in the tourney.

ISU didn't get much of a contest from VaTech. They should be rested.

A good zone might have held Va Tech under 40 points. The ISU coach called the D off of the Hokies when he had a 30 point lead. This game was over before the half.

All I got for now.

Ugh. Thanks, Phil. Our guys had better be on their game, 'cause ISU really wants this one.

I don't see us winning tonight unless we play a lot better than we have been playing.

yes...this is the time of year that many of us try to get out of Iowa.
the numbers of green may not be large, but the Blazer chants were pretty loud on TV

Thankfully we won't be getting embarrassed by Iowa state and their large (figuratively ) fan base.

The best part of the night was Iowa State fans booing UAB when we came onto the court. I guess a silver lining in tonight is we denied Iowa State the chance to get revenge.

If we could only win one game against Iowa State in the 2 tries we won the one that mattered most.
