Down goes Houston
UConn beats the number 19 Coogs 20-17. Ward throws an INT with under a minute left.

Who else would get it?

The MAC champ will have 3 losses, and so will the MWC Champ...there isn't really another option. Unfortunately this is a nightmare scenario for the G5 Bid protocol in general, as having an unranked team make it into a big bowl will make everyone reconsider even having that clause.

If they beat UCONN a 2 loss Temple plays a 1 loss Navy or Houston. Winner goes to access bowl. Don't know what would happen if USF wins American

Herman might turn into a great coach but I think it is a little early the way people are anointing him as one based on just this season. Look at the first eight games on their schedule and tell me that even with our defensive problems that we would have not been
7-1 or 8-0. Then I thought he used a very conservative game plan against us and was lucky
we shot ourselves in the foot multiple times. Today he loses a game against a Connecticut team that absolutely has no offense.

If UC hadn't looked like a bad high school team last night I'd be enjoying this a lot more on the AAC board.

But UC fans have no room to talk this year.

Yeah, but just WATCHING the Houston...ah...fans...like the Farmer and pesik and other Houston fans (my theory is that you have to pass some sort of test of ass-ness to qualify as a UH fan) melt down is priceless. You don't have to talk, all you have to do is listen.

It takes a little of the sting off.

Idk how anyone goes on that board anymore. Every thread is either a troll or a pissing match. I hope Navy plays Temple for the championship, as they have the most reasonable fans on that board. The rest are mostly a$$ hats.

RE: Down goes Houston
UConn's win hurts Cincinnati's bowl chances. Another team in the American is now bowl eligible. If UC loses to ECU they get a sixth win. Tulsa is currently down at the half to Navy but they still have a game at Tulane. There could be nine teams in the American with six wins or more. I still feel confident that if the American championship game is Temple v. Houston/Navy that the winner is a lock for the New Years Six bowl game. Toledo would have a shot if they sneak into the MAC title game but that looks like a long shot. Overall that give the American seven bowl locks and likely eighth game too. There could also be backup option that could help as well.

If UC beats ECU they lock up a bowl game. Lose next week and it comes down to a few breaks plus selling UC as a program. I feel good if the last spot is between Tulsa and Cincinnati or Cincinnati and 6-6 team from another G5 league. No way UC beats a power five team for that spot and head to head against UConn and ECU looks doubtful too.

I'm not so sure I want UC to play a bowl game this year, considering how much things have deteriorated in recent weeks. Another post-season loss owing to a lackadaisical attitude and poor preparation wouldn't do the program any good.

A bowl streak is a bowl streak though. It may suck that itd be 3 straight bowl losses, but going to 5 straight bowls has a nice sound to it.

Yes and national media will consider it a "good story".

Eh...I won't root against UC, but there has never been a moment where I have been less enthusiastic about UC getting an invite.

It used to be sarcasm but now I'm really serious... A bowl would be nice. (The damning sort of "nice..." like, "Do you want to go to McDonald's?...Oh I guess that would be nice.")

Even when I still moderated, I barely participated in that cluster of a board 03-lmfao

Glad to see Houston go down. Couldn't happen to a nicer fanbase. They are like osu fans without the success.

I cannot say I am enthusiastic about UC's bowl chances. This team is going through the motions and just wants the season to be over.

71 of 80 needed are eligible. 14 more could get to 6 wins. It is unlikely that more than 9 make it, so UC will get an invite. But who cares. I will not go to any bowl desperate enough to want us.
