Terms haven't been discussed. Everything about the offer is speculation at this point other than the fact that it exists.

Completely agree.

Saying I don't think Fuente is worth $3 million yet is not saying I think he's a bum. He's a good coach and has put Mem football on the map. But is he a great coach? That remains to be seen. When all is said and done, he may end up like the guy at Temple or like a Tommy Tubberville. I'm not ready to declare him the next Urban Meyer yet.

If another school wants to give him double what we are paying, I say wish him good luck and thank him. Otherwise, give him a slight pay bump.

I also think Houston is crazy to give Herman $3 million. Coaches are way overpaid these days without proving they are worth it.

Houston's offer was as much about making a statement to P5s as it was about the coach.

Not proving it? You mean like taking a team with 5 wins in three seasons to a team with 10 wins, 15 game win streak, top 15 ranking, and possibly back to back 10 win seasons in only 4 years...

What more could this guy to prove himself? Did anyone really expect us to win 10 or 11 regular season games after losing almost the entire defense?
