LOL

The second post in the thread is the one that injected Pastner as a poke at Fuente's intelligence. It became fair game at that point.

Justin said the most meaningful things said to him in October wasn't about the games but about what the team meant to Memphis.

I'm going with the ideas rendered in the first post of this thread.

Their situations are polar opposites. One inherited an elite program, all that needed to be done was maintain a level close to that. Fuente inherited a dumpster fire and built it into a national brand.

Fuente actually inherited more talent than Pastner did. Cal left the cupboard barren when he left including telling the biggest returning talent on the team to leave early. Then he took 90% of the recruiting class.

IF Fuente is going to stay he needs to make the announcement ASAP. Recruits are uneasy not knowing if he is going to be here or not and some are pulling the trigger for other teams because of it. The sooner these recruits know he is staying the more likely he will sign better players. His recruiting is not that great right now.

Defensive talent, sure. But he had to bring in players that would fit his offensive scheme and Memphis was NOT a desirable destination for football, as it was primarily built from ground up....

Recruits ALL over the country witnessed Memphis basketball domin8 @ the highest level with Derrick Rose, as he was taken as the top pick in the draft as well....

Imagine recruiting success if @Pax12 is taken #1

Who gives a **** about what Pastner inherited at this point, the guy has been here for 7 years. That is plenty of time to get his own players and system in place...

Back on topic to Fuente. I have a feeling that the attendance at this last game against SMU will speak much more loudly to Fuente than anything going on with Pastner...

If fans want to impress Fuente and make a statement to him, come out Saturday and support the team that has lost its last 3 games, but won their first 8.

And the forecast is for a cold, rainy day. I will be there, but I am worried about how big of a crowd we will have with bad weather and coming off 3 straight losses. Encourage your family & friends to be there, regardless.
