Access Bowl possible for CUSA
If USF wins out (very possible the way they are currently playing) its a very good chance that the "access bowl" this year goes to the winner of CUSA.

Especially if its a 10-2 WKU. Marshall less likely at 10-2 but still very possible. Either would likely will be the higher ranked G5 champion at the end of the year if USF wins out.

Thoughts?...

That's be one hell of a tough decision for the committee. Something like...
11-2 WKU/Marshall
9-4 USF
10-3 SDSU
9-3 Arkansas State
10-3 NIU

I think Western would get it under that scenario, but not Marshall. WKU benefits from the value of a "good loss" against LSU so they would be viewed more like being 11-1.

Hypothetically, I think a 3 loss Tech team would have the greater chance of getting an access bowl over Marshall considering who they loss to, Ohio and MTSU.

WKU losses to LSU and Indiana would be much more respectable losses to the CFP

Totally agree. Not likely that we would get it at 10-2 with our two losses but still a real possibility. At worst we would be in the conversation. I will say this....if USF wins out, and WKU wins out....I would feel very confident that it goes to CUSA and Western Kentucky.

I agree with that. A Louisiana Tech team that potentially wins CUSA is very possible as well if USF wins out.

USF also needs Temple to lose to Memphis or UCONN. Bulls winning out wouldn't be enough.

Yes it would. The G5 selection is "The highest ranked G5 CHAMPION"...Temple/Memphis wouldnt matter if USF wins out and captures the American Conference Championship.

Point is....a 10-2 WKU would most certainly finish the season ranked higher than an 8-4 USF. An argument could even be made for a 10-2 Marshall or 9-3 Louisiana Tech or Southern Miss assuming any of them win out as CUSA champion.

WKU for sure but It would be really close between Marshall/Tech and USF:

Sagarin
60 Tech
67 USF
71 Marshall

10-3 Southern Miss?
Would have losses to Mississippi St., Nebraska, and Marshall.
Wins over Tech, and WKU/Marshall, in that eventuality.

There's a chance?

Unfortunately USF is much higher in the polls

67 USF
86 Southern Miss

Well, for Marshall to get to 11-2 they would have to beat Western and La Tech/USM, which would certainly help their ranking. Of course La Tech would have to beat USM and Marshall/WKU, which would help them.

Toledo is not even in position to make the MACC. You have to be a conference champion.

With all this said, I highly doubt usf will win the AAC. Did just check though, they are raping Cincinnati.

It's so much fun to be winning again. I have missed this so much.
Next year, we make a run for the ages.

The Marshall/Southern Miss match-up next year should be fun to watch.
